05 FEB 2022. SEATON SANDS AND BLUE LAGOON. WORDS TO FOLLOW.

Beach Buoy rose at 6-03 a.m.
He and Another Dog reached the Beach Car Park at 7-03 a.m.
They sat in the back of the van a while, waiting for daylight to come.
7-18 the van door side door slid open.
Mr. Gunn / Nunn had just pulled up nearby.
They chatted a while.
Mr Gunn / Nunn explained that he hadn't be to the beach a while as his little dog had been poorly.
All ok now.
Mr Gunn / Nunn was as keen as his lovely little dog was to set off.
"See you later."
In no time at all the eager pair were off to the south.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed for the sea at a slower (Stop the inner Rush) pace. The 7 a.m. club headed north , towards the village green.

There was a hint of sunrise colour to the south.
It was cold
Two hoods were up and gloves were on from the outset.
The scene was one of pastel colours.

Around thirty Oyster Catchers trotted ahead of them,  like miniature dinosaurs.
Eventually they took flight.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed up to
Stubborn Dog Stack.
Beach Buoy added some stones that he has collected.
"Morning Mate."

He patted
THE
stone.
Beach Buoy drank hot coffee.
It was like pouring oil down into an engine that was just about to seize up.

The earlier glow had added up to nothing.
Beach Buoy watched as waves ran into
North Gare Corner.
The wind whipped off the top of any that should rise.

"See you mate."
Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed south.

The Sea Serpent Marker.

They continued south, through the dunes.
They passed a sit and think spot.
The spot had featured on a Seaton Snooks card.

The card.

Another Dog was keen to head down to North Gare Beach.
They walked to the river edge.
Gulls hung in the Pier's updraught.
Like teenagers hanging around an off-licence.

They found a VAUX bottle top.
Much of the riverside had been disturbed by recent rough seas.
They had a mooch.
They found Mr. One Ted.
Much more of him to follow.

He headed back with them, safe inside Beach Buoy's beach bag.

They headed back through the dunes.
A seat with a view.

The Sun rose to allow their sunshine shadows join them for the walk back.
They all said "Hi." to Stubborn Dog as they passed below.

They searched the shingle.
Beach Buoy found some very square sea glass.
A young man, up ahead was training a young dog.
The Dog saw Another Dog and came running over.
"Duke!"
"Duke! sorry mate. I'm trying to train him, he's only fourteen weeks."
" No worries. I had a dog called Duke once."
said Beach Buoy.
The two talked Dukes and Dogs in general for a while.
"See you later."
"Bye."

Duke and very pleasant owner head North.

They headed back to the van.
They met a couple with a Shitzu.
They talked Dogs.
Their dog was called Sid.
He was a year old.
They explained that their kids had wanted to have a dog.
But here they were, a few months later.
The kids had left home, leaving Sid behind.
Beach Buoy wondered if the kids had worried about empty next syndrome, planning it from the start.
It was clear the couple loved the dog.

One last look for now.

Meet Mr. One Ted.

The little blind bear was washed in hot soapy water
Then it was time for a cooling rinse.

Mr.One Ted was introduced to Mr. Washing line.
