SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL AND A TRIP TO BILLINGHAM.

It had been a long week.

Beach Buoy went to bed at 7-20 p.m.

He woke three hours and ten minutes later.

He made a coffee before watching, for the second time, a program about someone escaping to Shetland.

After the show Beach Buoy went to do some drawings.

Now Beach Buoy being Beach Buoy would have just stayed up until first light, then gone to the beach.

He decided a little more sleep might help?

He went to bed at 3 a.m.

By 6-20 he was saying hello to Radio Cornwall, shortly afterwards they were saying hello to him.

He prepared to go to the beach.

Fighting that inner rush, he calmly found boots, coats, beach note book, dog lead, harness.. Dog.

He made a thermal flask of coffee.

By 6-58 a.m. Beach Buoy and Another Dog were down at the beach seeing the scene shown in the above photograph.

It was windy.

They headed for the sea.

They were "On the clock."this morning so they would have to watch the time.

Dry sand snaked its way over towards the Headland. It looked like it wanted to first in the queue at Verrill's Fish and Chip Shop.

A blood orange coloured arm stretched out from behind the Gares.

It was shortening in length as the moment of sunrise approached.

It was cold.

Two Hoods and gloves were a must.

A light glowed above Saltburn.

Beach Buoy wondered how long it would be before the sun would rise from the sea.

As he walked, Beach Buoy returned some of his finds aka bits and bobs back to the sands. Like some crazed Farmer spreading sea pottery seeds.

Hugo appeared.

Hugo is the distant wave lady's dog.

The big friendly dog seemed unsure at first?

It would come so far then squat down to to see what, if any reaction it caused.

Eventually it made the final dash.

Another Dog  Danced around as Beach Buoy made a fuss of the big dog.

"Have you had fun?"

Beach Buoy asked as rubbed and scratched the dog's neck.

The distant wave lady waved from a distance, before approaching.

She made a fuss of Another Dog as she explained that she too was "On the clock " today.

A brief dog related chat and they were off in opposite directions.

They headed up to Stubborn Dog Stack.

The slope in the dune edge that usually has footprint steps, today soft windblown sand had made the slope a smooth one.

It was like trying to go up on a down escalator.

"Morning Mate."

Beach Buoy added some stones and patted

THE

stone.

Someone had added a painted stone to the stack.

πŸ€”

Hope they said hello to

Stubborn Dog.

But on the whole Beach Buoy is ok with this.

A beach walker watches the sunrise.

It was 7-58 a.m. when the sun cleared the  hills.

Being "On the clock." meant

"See you mate."

It was back to a blustery beach.

The beachcombing Border Collie Couple were heading south.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed down to the sea edge, to let them have the searchable strand line to themselves.

The view back towards the south was gorgeous.

Two ladies headed south.

One of them seemed to be carrying a large backpack?

It transpired that it was just a

BIG BIG

hood.

One that Beach Buoy would have been proud of.

Beach Buoy always checks for signs of life should any creature be washed ashore.

An earlier flat fish was dead, but this fella was full of life.

A random wave must have washed him ashore?

Beach Buoy placed it back in the sea.

It was around 150 mm long.

They continued north.

Beach Buoy spotted a distant Mr. Gunn/Nunn.

He raised an arm for a distant wave, which was returned.

The distant wave lady had trained them well.

On no!

It looked like Mr. Gunn/Nunn was walking alone?

Little Alfie was nowhere to be seen.

Beach Buoy's heart genuinely sank.

Alfie hadn't been well.

Beach Buoy recalled those first walks, the ones without Stubborn Dog.

The walks without any Dog.

Then πŸ€— Alfie came scampering out of the dunes.

The Dog was way behind its owner.

A quick trot and they were reunited.

Panic over.

They headed to the van.

Then off to collect Borrowed Dog.

He was staying the weekend.

Borrowed Dog.

Beach Buoy had a bath before heading to nearby Billingham.

A bear that he knew needed new eyes.

Mr.One Ted, sporting his new peepers.

Later that day they returned to the beach.

They being Beach Buoy, Borrowed Dog and Another Dog.

Two horses and riders were heading for the sea.

The tide was well out.

It was almost 3 p.m.

One of the horses seemed to be spooked by the strong wind?

It kept trying to reverse and try to sit down

The strong wind ensured a fairly quiet beach.

Lots of dry sand had been stripped from the beach by recent winds.

The height of the dune edge increased like a giant wedge as they headed south.

This offered more and more shelter as the walk progress.

They made their way up to

Stubborn Dog Stack.

"Afternoon Mate."

Beach Buoy added stones and patted

THE

Stone.

They watched as a  ship left the River, before turning to head South.

It was exposed up on the dunes.

"See you mate "

They headed back to the beach.

They followed a parcel of Oyster Catchers heading south.

They had a mooch down at Sand Martin Corner.

The three began a slow walk back.

They headed back to the village and van.

The sound of a seafront bad news siren drifted across the beach.

 Coffee in the van.

BEACH BUOY.
