SATURDAY 10 JULY.2021. SEATON SANDS , HARTLEPOOL .

It was 6-20p.m. when Beach Buoy and Borrowed Dog reached the beach.

Circumstances at the moment mean that Borrowed Dog needs to be borrowed as much for his benefit as Beach Buoy's.

It had been a sunny day.

An overcast sky must have thumbed a lift in the van,

arriving around 6-21 p.m. also.

It was still very warm.

The cooling breeze off the sea was refreshing and much needed.

A couple of paddle boarders, that had been sat on the dune edge, wandered down to the water's edge and made their way out to sea.

A board-less companion watched from the shoreline.

Beach Buoy headed south with Borrowed Dog as they walked the wet, relatively flat sand.

The tide had not long peaked and was receding.

A swimmer swam just offshore, towing a large orange float.

The float wasn't for additional buoyancy, it was a visual marker of the swimmer's position should a boat or jet ski come by.

MM.

The driftwood was around

200mm x 200mm x 1800mm.

They continued south.

Out in the bay all of the wind turbines turned in the breeze.

Only some of the turbines caught the sunlight, these were a bright white, those in the shade, a dull grey.

Beach Buoy paused to look out to sea.

Recently there had been reports of dolphins being spotted in the bay; none tonight.

They reached the stack.

" Hiya Mate."

said Beach Buoy as he patted

THE

stone.

He took a photograph or two.

He took some time.

He wasn't able to sit with his mate just yet, there could be an issue standing up again.

"Night night mate, miss you."

said Beach Buoy as he pushed a finger deep into the soft sand.

Closer.

Beach Buoy was happy to see that the dune grass had begun to stake a claim to

Stubborn Dog Stack.

Down on the beach, just in front of the stack, it was clear someone else was happy too.

Beach Buoy and Borrowed Dog shuffled back to the van.

People cooled down in the sea as other watched from the shore.
