SEATON SANDS, 06 SEPTEMBER 2020.

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog reached the beach car park
at 6-52 am.
The Golf Club Flag was flying at half mast once more.
A golfer was walking to play.
He passed the Amusement Arcades, pushing his golf clubs in front of him.
He was pushing one-handed, you know?- the way (Most) men push prams and pushchairs, although saying that nowadays, many  push one-handed as the other is usually busy on mobile phone duty.

Up on the promenade the couple with a story of their own were saying goodbye.
A council worker was sat in his truck.
The door was open.
He was trying to fasten his bootlace.
It was all a bit of a struggle.
Who put that steering wheel there?
He managed, shut the door and continued doing an excellent job of emptying the bins that were spread out along the length of the promenade.

It was a Covid 19 sunrise today; cloud mask and it had taken place behind closed doors.

They reached the water's edge at 7-02am.
A quick look to the north confirmed that the 7 am club were on their way south.
The sea and sky wore matching grey today.
The Strand line and water's edge were almost  as one, thanks to the high tide.
Autumnal  coloured twists of storm- torn seaweed spread out ahead as they headed south.
There was a slight breeze from the west, a.k.a; the right.

They stacked the stack.
The stack didn't seem to be growing in size, thanks to drifting sand burying it as it moved at the wind's pleasure.
The 7 am club had turned back to the north and were far off in the distance by the time Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog dawdled back to the sea.

Oyster Catchers and those "Pebbles with Legs." birds were feasting on these....
Thousands of them of them were on the strand line.
Beach  Buoy is reliably informed that they are Seaweed / Kelp Fly maggots.

They headed back to the van for the obligatory coffee and sit and think.
