SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL 21 DEC 2022.

Wednesday.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog set off for the beach at 3-34 p.m.

It felt a little bit chillier than it had done of late.

Fingerless gloves were chosen over gloveless fingers.

Gulls circled the Bus Station Clock Tower.

They weren't waiting for a bus.

Just circling above the man with a tray of fish and chips in one of the two long curved shelters that out from the Tower itself.

Random groups of people peppered the beach.

Some may have broke up early in the run or stumble up to Christmas?

Two hoods went up.

The height of the dune edge was offering no protection from the chilly wind today.

It was 4-16 p.m. when they reached Stubborn Dog Stack.
"Afternoon Mate."
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
 stone.
A man passed by.
" Hi there."
"Hiya." answered Beach Buoy.
Another man headed north on the beach, just below the stack.
Beach Buoy watched the bay with the wind on his back.

"See you mate."
They headed back northwards via the beach.
They crossed sand, shingle and seacoal as they made their way back in fading light.
Before the walk was done, Beach Buoy had the torch out .
He scanned in an arc of around eighty degrees like a broken radar screen.
By the time they had reached base camp, the sky was as dark as the seacoal that they had crossed.
Left behind for an unseen sea to claim once more.

BEACH BUOY.
