Beach Buoy had been up since 2 a.m.
He went for a drive with Another Dog around 5 a.m.
They reached the beach at 5-40 a.m.
Beach Buoy turned on the Propex heater.
The van was cosy.
Beach Buoy made a coffee.
Another Dog rested on the back of the rear seats.
Eventually Another Dog fell asleep.
7-01 a m.
They headed for the beach.
Beach Buoy had added new batteries to his mini maglight.
It was a very bright light,
like sunshine on a stick.
Once more, silhouettes walked the water's edge; the 7 a.m. club.
Beach Buoy shone the bright torch all around.
He did that thing that men tend to do with hosepipes whenever they are watering the garden.
He waggled the torch around for no particular reason.
He needlessly lit up the dune and water's edge.
Crows flew around like shadows not needing light.
They continued south.
"Morning Mate."
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He watched the sea.
"See you mate."
They headed back.
Like clockwork, Hugo appeared.
Beach Buoy made a fuss of the dog.
The dog leaned against Beach Buoy as the neck scratch.
The dog looked up, making
"Thank you."
eye contact.
Beach Buoy chatted to the Distant Wave Lady's Group.
They went their separate ways.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog carried on.
Alfie approached.
It was Mr. Gunn/Nunn's dog.
The little dog came over to say hello.
He even gave a half way of his tail.
It was one of those dogs that normally would just trot on by.
Beach Buoy was happy that the dog had accepted him.
The owners chatted.
Beach Buoy had brought some "Art work."for Mr Gunn/Nunn that he had enquired about.
They arranged collection for a hour or so.
Beach Buoy headed back to the van, making a coffee.
After a while Mr Gunn/ Nunn appeared.
Beach Buoy handed over the package
No charge.
An offer of summer tomatoes came his way as an exchange.
They headed back.
Another Dog wanted to stay in the van.
BEACH BUOY.
