SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL 12, NOV 2022.

Saturday 2-45 p.m.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog arrived on foot and paw at the beach.
The Bus Station Clock Tower read 7-26.
A flamboyantly dressed lady worked on the engine of a flamboyantly painted Motor Home.
As they headed down the access ramp, Beach Buoy heard the thud of a closed van bonnet then the sound of the engine firing into life.
Success.
They headed towards the sea.
Two beach fishermen were trying there luck, further north than most would.

The tide was way out.
It was as mild as could be with a bright sun and a mild south west breeze.
The light blue metallic sea broke with a white lace edge.

It was a glorious glorious day.
Too nice to stay in.
It felt like July 15th hadn't turned up for work last summer and was being forced to do a shift today.
Out in the bay three yachts yachted.

They and their sunshine shadows headed south.
People were dotted along the dune edge like lookouts.

They climbed up to Stubborn Dog Stack.
The stack looked perfect.
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
"Afternoon Mate."

A 360 view from the stack.

The sunlight was wonderful, even with an industrial back drop.

A boat headed for The Sea Serpent Marker.
A guided tour perhaps.🤔

A small moth flew by
Beach Buoy held out a hand.
The moth landed.
Beach Buoy held his hand still for ages.
Oddly, the moth seemed to be enjoying the sunlight.
Or maybe it was Beach Buoy's company.
The moth eventually took flight.
"See you mate."
They headed down towards the sandy slope.
A couple were climbing up the slope with a little white dog that looked like a cloud with legs.
"Toby."
"Toby."
A briefest of chats and they all went their separate ways.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog began a slow walk back.
A moth landed on Beach Buoy's jeans.
The moth?
Beach Buoy stood still. He did that "Wonder if it's a sign?" thing.
After all it was a Stubborn Dog colour.
In time the moth took flight.
"See you mate "

They continued North.
Beach Buoy hoped the the Sea Serpent was o.k?

As they headed back a horse and rider claimed the water's edge.
Up on the strand-line, a family headed back to the car park.
The mother was dragging a sledge.
No snow today, far from it.
It was just a novel way of transporting their beach equipment.
BEACH BUOY.
