SEATON SANDS , HARTLEPOOL 11 OCT 2019.

They arrived at 5-20 pm
It was on of those evenings when it would have been better to arrive ten minutes earlier or later, it wouldn't have mattered which.
One of those evenings when a possible troublesome dog and  a shouty family end up almost walking the beach with you.
One of those evenings if you slowed, they slowed.
All a bit of a beach dance...slow, slow, quick, quick slow...
Beach Buoy reckoned  that they wouldn't walk the full beach.
He was right.
Eventually they paused and then turned back.
The Sand dance was over.
THE SAND DANCE.

The tide was about half in / half out.
There was a fresh wind blowing across the dunes and out to sea from the west.
The grey sea was rippled, the waves only breaking at the last minute as if out of some misguided sense of duty.

,

Beach Buoy collected rocks and then headed for the dunes; the first two.....

Beach Buoy will be putting two stones here each beach visit from now on, just so there is no mistake where his ashes need to go.
Whenever that may be.

He is already older than both of his parents ever were.
He carried onto the Grey Rocks and he too paused.
A long look out to sea as Stubborn Dog laid down on the sand by his feet as though it was a summer's day.
Perhaps it was to his stubborn little companion?
Time to start a slow walk back?
Beach Buoy sighed.
The dog looked up and stared into Beach Buoy's eyes.
They set off.
The sky to the north was turning cream as a distant sun began to settle for the night.
Two parallel  aeroplane vapour trails hung in the sky, lit by the creamy back drop.
They looked like flamboyant  braces, holding up the cloud's
trousers.
The other night they broke and the whole bay was mooned.
They reached the promenade.
They rested on the promenade wall as the cream of the sky turned blood red.
A motorhome was parked nearby.
A mother was circling the nearby cars with a pushchair trying to get the baby to sleep, before returning to the mobile home.
Beach Buoy placed Stubborn Dog onto the promenade for the short walk back to the van......
It wasn't happening.
Stubborn Dog laid flat like he had been shot; taken one for the team.
So it was a pick up and a carry.
It was either that or ask to borrow that pushchair...
