SEATON SANDS , HARTLEPOOL, 02 OCT. 2019.

The Golf Club Flag hung at half-mast again.
It fluttered sadly in the slight, but fresh wind.
Beach  Buoy and Stubborn Dog arrived in the Car Park a few minutes before 5pm.
As they waked down to the Beach, the Church Bells confirmed the time.
It chimed to a background of a rumbling and roaring sea.
Twigs and some large driftwood pieces were scattered all over the strand-line.

They headed South.
When the waves broke, the sea would rush in, covering 30 or 40 feet in no time at all.
Last night it managed to cover an extra 2 feet... 6 if you count Stubborn Dog's too.

Rough seas can bring gifts from the past.
The Sun that had recently only had eyes for The Headland, spread across the Bay.
As the back drop was dark in contrast to the glowing sun,
many things came to light in the brightness.
A flock of white birds shone as they crossed the Bay, like the first flakes of snow caught in car headlights on a dark and stormy night.

The Green and Red Marker Buoys for the Tees and Hartlepool Port showed themselves.
The Sea Serpent seemed to have painted his marker post bright Red.
Maybe he chose the colour to warn people off.
He does enjoy his own company.

Down by the Grey Rocks the waves seemed to form an orderly queue. The Sea Serpent Marker is to the right.

North Sea Delivery made sure that there was plenty of comfy sit and think driftwood benches, dropped off at the Grey Rocks...
Better than searching for a bum shaped comfortable rock to sit on.

As they headed back the "One that got away" Fisherman from the other day headed towards the Grey Rocks.
He reminded Beach Buoy of a pantomime Dick Whittington  with his rod and bucket resting on his shoulder.
THE BEACH IS PAVED IN GOLD

Or maybe that it is just the sand......
