It was 6-30 pm. Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog parked the van; well Beach Buoy did. Stubborn dog has failed the theory test twice. If he ever does pass the test he reckons he want a ... Rover! It had been a typical bank holiday Monday as far as the weather was concerned. The car park wasn't busy by any stretch of the imagination but there were a few a vehicles around. Teenagers played football. Hardy day trippers were drifting back to their cars and some boy racers arrived ; piped aboard by the squeal of tyres. The air was chilled, as was Beach Buoy. The tide was quite high. Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog headed south. The high tide meant that the beach was a narrow beach this evening. Up ahead a group of 6 plus one dog were running to and from the water's edge. It was plain to see that they had been caught out a few times by the rushing sea and wet feet would be a common denominator for the group. Beach Buoy envisaged dog trouble. So he headed up to the dunes to save a possible scene on the narrow stretch of beach. |
