SEATON SANDS 31 MAY 2018

Finally after days of fog the Sun made an appearance. By the time Beach Buoy and two dogs arrived at the Beach  (7-28pm) the Sun had hazed over a little but it was still very pleasant.
There was a breeze from the South East.
They had travelled the short distance by car today.
A lady was riding a Bicycle fitted with panniers with one hand as she held her phone and talked in the other.
Beach Buoy had parked two cars down from a couple enjoying Fish  and Chips as they sat in the front seats of their vehicle.
Pale Grey Paper spotted with grease stains laid across the dashboard as they consumed their meal.
As he does from time to time Beach Buoy wandered from patch to patch of the Scattered Shingle looking for anything of interest.
Teenagers played in the Dunes.
There were High Screams in the Dunes and Ice Creams on the Sea Front. Beach Buoy hadn't noticed the Pied Wagtails on the Beach in previous years, they seem prevalent this year.
One was walking almost in line with Beach Buoy, the little dipping bird walked more than it flew.
When it did fly, it would flap close to the Sand as though it was trying to disturb the Sand flies.
A couple stood facing the Sea whilst watching their Dogs play in the water.
They reminded Beach Buoy of the Couple Sculpture up in Newbiggin by the Sea
COUPLE SCULPTURE.
Over the Dunes the Skylark sang sweetly as a Seagull drifted from  that direction and glided on the evening air for a couple of hundred metres, it eventually gave a single flap of it's wings and it continued on it's way.
The Sun brightened  and Beach Buoy's shadow made an appearance in front of him.
The shadow was obviously not a lover of the fog.

Beach Buoy turned and looked North and "The Couple." had headed back towards Seaton Carew Village.
It crossed Beach Buoy mind that it is funny how far apart you can end up when you are walking in different directions.

Beach Buoy wanted a sit and a think.
The Dogs wanted to walk!

They couldn't wait and tried to dig their way out.
The older dog giving guidance on Tunnel technique.

When questioned, the younger dog denied  any involvement
in the escape attempt.

Another balloon getting collected as part of Beach Buoy's
#2minutebeachclean.

He even picked up POO from the Beach.

SEATON SANDS 30 MAY 2018.

BEACH BUOY WALKED TO THE BEACH WITH TWO DOGS. THEY ARRIVED AT 1837 QUEEN VICTORIA HAS JUST TAKEN THE THRONE......OR IN THE REAL WORLD IT WAS ....6-37PM
IT WAS FOGGY ONCE AGAIN WITH A FRESH BREEZE FROM THE NORTH.
THEY WALKED DOWN THE RAMP TO THE BEACH.
THERE WAS A PIED WAGTAIL ON THE BEACH WITH ITS RAVENOUS OFFSPRING, LETTING THE WORLD KNOW IT WAS SUPPER TIME.

THE TROOPS HEADED SOUTH.
SEA FOAM HAD GATHERED IN SOME AREAS NEAR THE WATER'S EDGE, IT HAD BEEN SPRINKLED WITH  SOME WIND BLOWN SAND .
IT WOBBLED IN THE BREEZE LIKE MOTAR JELLY.
ONE OF  THEIR  BEACH CLEAN ITEMS WAS A PINK  FRISBEE; THROW AWAY PLASTIC IN EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD.

BEACH BUOY STOOD FACING THE SEA; ASSESSING THE DENSENESS OF THE FOG.
TO HIS LEFT THE HEADLAND AND MARINA HAD GONE. TO HIS RIGHT, SALTBURN, THE WIND TURBINES AND EVEN NORTH GARE PIER HAD  BEEN CLAIMED BY THE FOG.
A JOGGER APPEARED FROM THE DUNES AND DISTURBED THE RESTING GULLS THAT HAD GATHERED NEAR TO THE STRAND LINE.
BEACH BUOY HEADED BACK.

WALK DONE
THE FINDS WERE WASHED  AND PHOTOGRAPHED...

SEATON SANDS, SEATON CAREW, HARTLEPOOL.29 MAY 2018.

BEACH BUOY AND THE DOGS ARRIVED ON THE BEACH AROUND   7-27 pm
AN OLD COUPLE WITH ARMS LINKED HAD JUST ARRIVED AT THE SOUTH END OF THE PROMENADE, THEY SAT DOWN ON A BENCH AND THE SEA DISAPPEARED FROM THEIR VIEW; HIDDEN BY THE SUBSTANTIAL PROMENADE WALL.

THREE PEOPLE  CAME UP THE RAMP FROM THE BEACH WITH A LARGE BROWN DOG; THEY SHOEHORNED THEMSELVES INTO A SMALL CAR AND DROVE OFF.

THE TIDE WAS WELL OUT. THERE WAS A STRONG FRESH BREEZE FROM THE NORTH.
BEACH BUOY AND TWO DOGS HEADED FOR THE SEAWEED LADEN STRAND LINE.
HE FOUND A BALLOON .

HE CARRIED ON SOUTH.
HE FOUND A BALLOON.

STILL HEADING SOUTH.
BEACH BUOY LOOKED TO THE WATER'S EDGE.
HE SAW THREE FIGURES ; ONE OF THEM MALE.
THEY HAD A BLACK DOG.
THE MALE WAS THROWING STONES/ SMALL ROCKS INTO THE SEA. THE DOG WASN'T INTERESTED. HIS COMPANIONS MADE OUT THEY WERE.
BEACH BUOY THOUGHT TO HIMSELF..
"SHOULD HAVE COME LAST NIGHT MATE AND TRIED YOUR LUCK IN THE FOG OLYMPICS."
BEACH BUOY PICKED UP ANOTHER BALLOON.

IT WAS REALLY FRESH AND BEACH BUOY WAS GLAD OF TWO HOODS UP.
A GROUP OF LARGE SEAGULLS TURNED FROM FACING THE WIND, TO WATCH A LARGE  BLACK BIRD WALK NEARBY LIKE A CLOCKWORK TOY.
THE BLACK BIRD KEPT DOING A WHISTLE LIKE A BUILDER ON A BUILDING SITE TRYING TO GET HIS MATES ATTENTION.

BEACH BUOY PICKED UP ANOTHER BALLOON.

COMING TO THE END OF THE SOUTH WALK, BEACH BUOY PICKED UP ANOTHER BALLOON, THE RIBBON WAS ALMOST A METRE LONG.

AFTER DAYS OF MIST AND FOG, THE SUN MADE A VAIN ATTEMPT TO SHOW BUT ENDED UP LOOKING MORE LIKE THE MOON.
AT THE SUN'S PALE APPEARANCE A SKYLARK BURST INTO SONG. AS IF TO SAY " IT AIN'T MUCH BUT I'M HAVING IT."

BEACH BOUY WAS WALKING A DIFFERENT LINE BACK SO... HE FOUND AND PICKED UP ANOTHER BALLOON.

AND ANOTHER...
AS THE WALK WAS ENDING A WOMAN, MAN AND DOG ARRIVED.
THE MAN WAS EATING FISH AND CHIPS FROM A MASS OF PAPER THAT HE WAS TRYING TO PROTECT FROM THE BREEZE AS HE WALKED. THE WOMAN WAS THROWING  THE DOG A BALL. THE DOG KEPT RETURNING IT TO THE MAN, MAYBE EXPECTING A CHIP TREAT. THE ONLY CHIP HE GOT WAS WHEN THE HUNGRY LOOKING MAN; WITH A FOOTBALLER'S TOUCH WOULD CAREFULLY KICK THE BALL BACK TO THE WOMAN.

BEACH BUOY HEADED BACK.
HE WASHED AND PHOTOGRAPHED RECENT FINDS.

SEATON SANDS, SEATON CAREW, HARTLEPOOL.

Beach Buoy and the Dog arrived at 7-43 pm.
They had passed a wagging Pied Wagtail  on the way to Beach.
As they pulled up a Metal Detector Fan was slinking his "Machine" into the Boot of his Small Car.
Beach Buoy headed for the strand line ; he couldn't see the Sea. A mist had turned into Fog. Compared to Saturday, tonight felt five seasons colder!
The Patch of Sea coal that was spotted on previous visits had changed from a rectangle into a bold black line  as if underlining the STRAND LINE.

In the distance Beach Buoy could make out the shapes of  a Man and Woman.
She wore Red, he wore Dune.
The Man was taking exaggerated steps whilst comically swinging his arms; the woman laughed.
The Man stopped, turned, spun then spun again and threw rock as though it was a Discus in the Fog Olympic; he stepped out his throw.

The Citrus Sun settled at the end of the Beach ... OK ! Its an Orange... and it's Foggy.
Beach Buoy and his mate turned at the Gare and headed back. The Fog seemed to have become thicker and as the moisture gathered on Beach Buoy's hair, it fell like droplets of rain  in front of him.

The unmistakable sound of youth drifted along the Beach. In the grey distance  Beach Buoy could make out four shadowy figures  venturing into the Sea on a scatter of rock that had been exposed at low tide. He saw them get back to safety as the noise level increased!

BEACH BUOY.

SEATON SANDS 28 MAY 2018.

It was 6-20am.
The Council workers with flashing Amber Lights and Hi Vis clothing, cleaned the Area with the help of the Seagulls dressed in White and Grey
Beach Buoy's was the first Car in the Car Park.
He parked in the South - East Corner.
A second Car soon came and parked at the opposite end of the Car Park.

Beach Buoy climbed over the low wall to the South and was on the Beach.
The occupant of the other Car  and his Dog went down the ramp to the Beach. He was dressed for two seasons; Shorts and winter coat on top half.
There was a Mist in the Bay and the sound of an electric buzzer type Fog Horn. The Headland and Wind Turbines had disappeared into the mist
Beach Buoy headed for the Strand line as the sound of an invisible boat chugged across the Bay.
The Two seasons Man was up in the Dunes and had been joined by a Lady and her Dog. Like Beach Buoy they were heading South. They kept popping in and out of view as they negotiated the Dune Slopes.
The Lady unfurled a Red, Pack a Mack type coat. It flapped in the breeze like a warning flag.
The Couple crossed down onto the Beach and claimed the Strand line as theirs!
Beach Buoy belatedly recognised the Man as the bird chaser  from Yesterday; he had brought back up today.

Beach Buoy alternated his hoods; up one minute down the next. He liked the freshness of the day in one way and the comfort of cosy isolation in another.

Beach Buoy photographed and collected another  Beached Balloon.

And another.

Beach Buoy is a slow Beach comber
So the 7 o'clock club came and went ... as did the Large Poodle, after it's regular Beach Buoy neck rub.

Beach Buoy had put the driftwood hand  from yesterdays blog into the sand. The thinking behind it was that it was waving at the Waves. As he returned to it on the way back... some PRAT had hung a used Dog Poo bag on it.

The Electric Buzzer was still sounding out its slightly annoying Call.
Beach Buoy thought how comforting it would be to swap it for one of those Deep Bellowing proper Fog Horns of Old.
The type you might of heard in an episode of Scooby Doo, where those "Pesky Kids."had exposed a Ghost Ship as a Hologram and the Pirate as the Town's Mayor.
The type that would send you to sleep even if you were living right next to it.
Beach Buoy recalled the photograph he was given during a Family Tree  quest.
The photograph was of his Great Grandfather; ringing the Fog bell on Hartlepool  Pier.
He never met him, but was told he was a Hero; getting the Sea Gallantry Medal in 1901 his part in shipwreck rescue.

The two Dawdlers finally reached the Car.
As Beach Buoy watered the Dog and made him comfy, three men headed along to the dead end of the promenade.
They walked three a breast.
The middle man looked like the team's spokesperson. Although he was talking loudly, the only word Beach Buoy could make out was "Referendum."
As the three approached the dead end wall, they all reached out to touch it, did an about turn and headed back from where they came

Beach Buoy photographed the #2minutebeachclean and drank Tea.

SEATON SANDS, SEATON CAREW 27 05 18

Beach Buoy put on his dried and Dubbined boots and headed for the Beach with One Dog.
The Village Church Clock struck 7 (pm.) as the pair stepped out of the Car.
Beach Buoy was drawn to the dramatic colour differences in the beach Scene.
In the distance he could see the hi vis coats of The German Shepard's Owners Club.
A night time version of the morning's 7 o'clock club.
Beach Buoy imagined them a little more edgy; more extreme.
The winter before last when Beach Buoy wouldn't give into the dark nights and did the Beach anyway by torchlight
the GSOC were there... Hence the liking for hi vis.

It was a glorious evening.
A man in shorts stomped by and headed off into the Dunes.
He had the whitest of white legs.

A Tongue of Sand stuck out rudely into the Sea.
It was edged by Seagulls, their whiteness glowing in the Bright Sunlight.
But they were still a couple of shades down the Scale of White leg man.
A Jaded Jogger Jogged past Jadedly into the headwind  as if in slow motion. It would feel like uphill all the way from here.

Beach Buoy and the Dog shuffled back to the Car.
Beach Buoy lifted the car tailgate to give the Dog a drink.
They had an audience of youths in three cars.
They had loud "Music" on , with a relentless drum beat.
The dog seemed to drink in time to the beat.

Pre Blog production meeting.
Apparently we need more Dog content!

BEACH BUOY.

SEATON SANDS 27 MAY 2018.

Beach Buoy and one Dog left the house a couple of minutes before 6am.
The Sun was already quite high to the East, as he  looked it that direction he saw the silhouettes  of two Pigeons running along a neighbouring rooftop, at least one of them was wanting to be a Lovebird.
Beach Buoy's was the first Car in the Car Park.
There was a Breeze from the North.
The Sky was filled with Lemon from the Citrus Sun.
As he stepped onto the Beach he noticed someone had rotated the Dog Ban sign 180 degrees.
Beach Buoy rotated it back to it's correct position.
He was glad of the Dog's company today as they headed to the strand line.
Beach Buoy took off his Sunglasses and stored them in his multi pocketed Beach Bag.

They followed a lazy strand line that hadn't ventured up the beach much, there were some nice large water filled ripples in the sand.
Two hoods went up, not so much to do with the chill, more to do the World could Buy One and Get One Free.
The Beach had the full range of  textures / coverings today;
Flat Sand,
Rippled Sand,
Shingle,
Shingle,
Sea coal
and Rocks.
A couple appeared from the Dunes , as did their Chocolate Brown Dog.
The Big Dog looked friendly and it started to run to Beach Buoy, wanting to say hello.
His Grumpy little companion barked and the Brown Dog did a sudden about turn at the noise.
He returned to it's owners and they followed suit and disappeared into the Dunes as quickly as they had appeared.

Beach Buoy walked as far as some Seagulls, warming in the morning Sun.
He headed up into the Dunes so as not to disturb the Seabirds.
He looked back shortly afterwards to see a determined looking man walking as far as the Gulls, almost as if  it was his job to disturb them.
Job done he headed back to the North.
A Skylark drifted by in the strong breeze until it arrived at it's chosen spot in the sky and it started to sing it's song.

They headed to the River Tees.

The Colour caught Beach Buoy's eye; he thought it was Plastic that needed beach cleaning; it was a flower; Thank goodness.

After a while it was back to Hartlepool Bay.
Beach Buoy could see the 7 o' clock club heading South.

The big friendly Poodle came for it's regular neck rub.
Beach Buoy smiled when he saw that the dogs tail had been dyed multicolours.
Beach Buoy was a bit of a wanderer, the 7 o'clock club set off back North and were soon well ahead of him.
Beach Buoy watched as one of The Club's Dogs ran to the water's edge ; scattering the resting Gulls. It continued into the water, ran out and shook itself before squatting for a wee. (Thankfully the earlier bird scarer had not done this.)

There was some lovely scenes.

And some not so lovely... but beach cleaned.

They rested on the promenade wall and watched as horses rode off into the Sun.
As they rested; viewing the scene, a young couple appeared on the Beach just in front of them, they had walked down the nearby access ramp.
The Man asked if they were OK walking the Dog here, in what was either a Yorkshire or Lancashire accent.
Beach Buoy pointed to the recently rotated sign.
'You are OK from here all the way to the Pier, go over the Pier, there is another Beach and you're OK right to the River."
Beach Buoy and his mate watched as the slightly Bohemian looking couple headed off; obviously Beach combing as they went. Beach Buoy was sure that they were a VW type set up and was sure he would see their Camper Van as he turned to the Car Park.
He was mistaken.

Beach Buoy dried his Boots in the Sun as he drank tea.
He was pleased not to be at the "PIPE AND SLIPPERS." Stage just yet! In fact it won't happen.

He had just learnt not to label people.
Don't judge, you can make stories up in your head, but you don't know the real story.

He went shopping later and saw an Angel Cloud.
BE HAPPY

BEACH BUOY.
