2, MAY 2025. SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL.

Friday.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached the beach at 6-13 a.m.

It was sunny.

There was a lovely breeze from the north west.

The tide was well in.

To the south, a ship headed out to sea.

Beach Buoy collected five stones of the suitable variety.

Beach Buoy met up with the 7 a.m. club
They were heading south too
Beach Buoy congratulated him.
"What for?"
"The excellent interview on the radio yesterday."
"Oh thanks it went well."
He had been interviewed by BBC Radio Tees.
It was to do with the Brass Monkey Swimmers.
It was on Amy Oakden's Show.

Team One Black Ear had caught up.
They walked in a group.
The men all wore shorts.
Even Beach Buoy!
He had kept it quiet to avoid the inevitable crowds and paparazzi.
The 7 a.m. club said that it must be like Baywatch for any ladies passing.
Beach Buoy knew it was more like Last of the Summer Wine.
As long as he wasn't Compo, Beach Buoy was OK with that.
They all went their separate ways.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed  up to Stubborn Dog Stack.

6-40 a.m.

"Morning Mate."

Beach Buoy added the five suitable stones.

He patted

THE

stone.

He sat on the driftwood plank with plenty of rust.

Little Terns dropped into the sea just ahead of him.

The driftwood plank turned out to be the perfect ringside seat.

The Skylarks were noticeable by their absence.

On the beach below, the 7 a m. Club headed back north.

Oddly it was 7 a.m.

A distant unheard factory buzzer buzzed.

Beach Buoy stood.

He stretched his arms up, keeping them there longer than one would expect.

"See you mate."

They returned to the beach.

An aeroplane passed by.
Beach Buoy gave perhaps what was most distant wave of all.

They walked the water's edge.

They headed back to the van.

Team Muzzled Dog were just arriving as they left.
