SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL. 2, DEC, 2023.

Beach Buoy woke at 4-58 a.m.

Kettle.

Beach Buoy looked out into the garden.

It had snowed overnight.

Coffee.

Catch up on blog.

Eventually it was time to head out.

Beach Buoy scraped ice from the van's window.

They followed tyre tracks in the snow as they drove to the beach.

They reached an empty beach car park

 at 7-15 a.m.

It looking like an ice-skating rink.

The headed to the access ramp.

The Promenade looked treacherous.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog walked the frozen edging strip of grass.

The frozen blades of grass crunched underfoot.

A lone lady headed south before them, disturbing 96 resting Gulls as she did so.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed south too, closer to the strand-line than the sea.
The warmer sea seemed to be steaming on such a crisp and fresh day.
A Dozen Crows walked the line where sand turned to snow on a previous strand-line.

The air was almost still but fully chilled.

They wandered down to the water's edge.

Steam came off the bath, as if it were a hot bath in an icy room.

Sea Buckthorn blocked the dunes.
Icy rocks blocked the beach access.
There would be no wobbly coffee today.
It would maybe too cold to sit at the stack anyway.

Coffee on the go it was...

A man in orange walked the dunes.
Beach Buoy it wasn't.

A jogger ran to the Sun.
Team Muzzled Dog passed by.
They chatted.
Apparently it was supposed to be a gentle walk for Muzzled Dog.
The big friendly dog has a poorly foot.
It had been limping around the house but once on the beach, zoomies were the thing to do.
They went their separate ways.

Beach find.
Keeper.

Two Ladies headed south along the strand-line as Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed north.
The Ladies each carried a coffee as they walked.
One wore a long black coat, the other, a long white coat.
Beach Buoy wondered if their coffees matched their attire?

The Sun rose.
Gold over a white frozen beach.

Two more Ladies passed as they threw a ball for their dog.

"Morning."
"Morning."
"Morning."

Beach Buoy carried on northwards.
Beyond the car park.
Beyond the van.

He photographed Seaton Carew's Wonderful Clock Tower.

He faffed around trying to capture some Sun and Snow photographs.

They headed back to the promenade.

They headed back to the van.

It has been a cold morning.
