SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL 17 JULY 2022.

Sunday morning.
Beach Buoy woke and rose at 4-48 a.m.
around the same time as the Sun.
Beach Buoy boiled a kettle and made a thermal mug of coffee.
He opened the front door.
It was the cry of Gulls that greeted him not the roar of the sea; a calm day.
From the drive he could see that the Bay's Wind Turbines were motionless; a very calm day.
They reached the beach car park at 5-15 a.m.
Three silver cars were randomly parked
To the west, golf club grass cutters rumbled into action.
It was light.
It was bright.
Beyond the dunes, the moon looked like a child's wayward football resting on a neighbour's cloud.

They headed for the sea to the sound of chattering Little Terns.

The tide was well in but still had more beach to claim.
Footprints of beach walks would soon be taken. They would remain in memories not sand.

They headed south.
JORDAN
♥️
ANNABELLE
Was written in the sand.
In the sand that would soon be claimed by the sea.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog continued south.
Up ahead, way off in the distance two people appeared from the dunes.
The couple walked to the water's edge and skimmed stones onto a mirror-like sea.
The couple turned to head north.
"Morning."
"Morning."
as they passed.

If anyone was a Jordan and an Annabelle, it was those two... Thought Beach Buoy.

The couple headed off to the north.
It wasn't 6 a.m. yet.

The beach ahead belonged to Beach Buoy and Another Dog.

Something broke the surface of the sea.
Beach Buoy caught a glimpse.
It didn't seem to be a seal.
It had length.
Sadly that was it ..
It wasn't the Sea Serpent as he could be seen up near the marker, hence the name.

They ambled along to Stubborn Dog Stack.

"Morning Mate."
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.

He sat drinking coffee.
Mari and Wallace, two of the three 7 a m. Club dogs appeared at the stack as if by magic
Beach Buoy made a fuss of the two friendly canines.
They were gone as quickly as they came.

The breeze picked up.
The flat sea rippled.
A fly grasped a bobbing grass seed head.
Coffee drank..
"See you mate ."
Back to the beach.

 A slow walk back.
Beach Buoy chatted to a beach regular.
The sky to the west turned  grey.
It could rain.
It did rain, only briefly.

BEACH BUOY.
