AN EVENING VISIT, SEATON CAREW HARTLEPOOL 22 JULY 2022

Friday evening.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached the beach at nine minutes past free parking o'clock.
6-09 p.m.
Like baby bear's porridge, it was not too hot, not too cold.
It was just right.
A Dad and lad walked the promenade with a shared football passing from one to the other.

There was a slight breeze from the east.
They headed south.

Beach Buoy paused.
He looked around.
Three people to the north.

Two to the south.

One man in no man's land, heading from north to south at the water's edge, his flappy coat flapping as he walked.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed to Stubborn Dog Stack.

"Evening Mate "
He added six stones.
He patted

THE

stone.

He watched the sea.

"SeƩ you mate."
They headed back to the beach.
Three quiet teenagers were sat chatting on a blanket, just in front of the grey rocks.
A man with a dog and a bald head walked the dune edge behind them.

Beach Buoy headed to try and collect the other part of the magnet rope.
Maybe should know better at his age.
He untangled the rope.

Fishermen stood at the Pier end, looking like hopeful capstans.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog began a slow walk back.
Pebbles with Legs ran ahead like tiny motorcycle outriders.
Two Oyster Catchers joined the cavalcade , dressed in the colours of NYPD squad cars.

Beach Buoy spotted a piece of sea pottery.
The cavalcade ground to a halt.

They headed back towards the village.

Others were just arriving.

These two from Newbiggin by the sea came to mind.

Maybe even art needs holidays?

 Coffee time.
