What do you do?
Do you try to carry on as normal?
Do you share how it is?
Do you spend precious time away from Stubborn Dog to even write the blog?
He might have ages left, he might have days?
Strange times.
It was Friday Evening.
Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog arrived at the beach at 6-20 pm.
The breeze was off the sea.
The tide had not long turned from high.
Beach Buoy carried Stubborn Dog to the water's edge.
It wasn't a long walk, thanks to the height of the obliging sea.
Beach Buoy was determined that they would reach the stack together.
Seemed like Stubborn Dog was determined too.
He walked for a short while.
They rested on the Dune edge a while.
A man passed with a Waggy-tailed Spaniel
(They all are.)
"Evening."
"Evening."
and they were gone.
Beach Buoy carried his little mate up to the stack.
They had a sit and think.....
Stubborn Dog wouldn't be walking again this evening.
Beach Buoy carried him back along the water's edge, back towards the van.
Onwards.....
The sand sparkled like never before.
Grains of sand twinkled like stars in a clear night sky.
Beach Buoy drove to the Sea Front.
Stubborn Dog slept.
Beach Buoy drank coffee.

Special moments. Thank you.

DeleteSo moving. It must have been hard to write.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I had been in two minds about sharing this part of our journey. People seem to like Stubborn Dog so thought i may as well let everyone know just how it was for real. Didn't want people to think it was a sympathy trip. The world is a mess with all sorts of tragic things going on. Im just going to miss my mate.
DeleteSpecial times for the two of you together...
ReplyDeleteThank you. Not sure how long it will be so I am trying to make him happy.
