SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL. 05 , APRIL. 2024.

Beach Buoy, Borrowed Dog and Another Dog reached the beach at 5-05 p.m.
Two teenagers were having a driftwood sword fight on the northerly access ramp.

A strong wind blew from the west.
It carried the aroma of three seafront fish and chips shops across the beach and out to sea.
Salt and vinegar gusts.
Borrowed Dog was visibly over the moon to be along for the walk.

The tide looked to be more out than it was in, although The Seaton Carew Wreck was still at sea.

The young lady with a Yorkshire Terrier headed south.

Sea pottery.

Beach Buoy and the dogs headed towards the long slope up to the dunes.
Laughter of half-terms girls drew half-term boys up onto the dunes to the north.

A man with a Pug walked north along the water's edge.

A man with a Spaniel walked north along the strand-line.

Beach Buoy and the dogs crossed the grey rocks.
The rocks were exposed so much more to the north now.

They climbed the long slope.

Beach Buoy looked south along the "easy" route.
Not too far in the distance to the west, in long grass that wasn't quite long enough. A biology lesson was taking place.
A pair of bare knees and a matching bare bottom.
Luckily the route to Stubborn Dog Stack is to the east.
It also drops down to a lower level, saving all concerned any embarrassment.

"Afternoon Mate."
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He sat with his dogs and coffee.

Borrowed Dog is such a loving dog.
He seemed to be saying thanks for the walk
Thanks for letting me come to see Stubborn Dog.

On the beach below, one man and his dog headed back to the village.
Beach Buoy and the dogs did likewise.
"See you mate."

They walked the blustery beach.

The wreck was on show now.
The tide was heading out.
Beyond the wreck, two surfers made use of the breaking waves.
Beach Buoy wondered what sailors of old would make of it all?

A very delicate piece of sea pottery.
It's curves suggested that it was once a tea cup?

As they left, a photographer with tripod headed for the sitting duck of a wreck

SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL. 04, APRIL 2024

Beach Buoy and Another Dog passed Dottie Dog and her mam as they drove the short distance to the beach.

Waves were shared as they passed.

It was 3-50 p.m. by the time Beach Buoy and Another Dog were walking the overcast beach.

The tide looked to be 50/50

The tide looked to be so so.

Nearby, red roses had been placed in the sand ...

They headed southwards.

A chilly breeze from the north blew.

Half-term beach writers had been out in force.

Purdy's mam was close to the strand-line, chatting to a couple.

Distant waves were shared.

A large brown dog was having a bit of a lost panic.

It ran up and down the strand-line looking for it's owner.

Eventually the owner appeared from the dunes with another two identical but not lost dogs.

All were large, none were on a lead.

The owner was wearing an Orange hat.

It was so very orange, brighter than a fishing net float.

It reminded Beach Buoy of a quote by Clarkson on top gear.

He was talking about his Mother's 1970's

VW Beetle.

"It was so orange that it made an orange look like a lemon."

This afternoon Beach Buoy's coat seemed very lemon.

There could be a Seaton Snooks Tea Room Card coming soon.

Half-term kids ran from a shoe-dragged line on the beach to and up the dune edge.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed to the dunes at a slower pace.

4-24.
"Afternoon Mate."
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He sat, pleased that the driftwood wedge about a metre long was still in place.
He drank some coffee.
He thought thoughts.

Despite the chilly breeze coming off the sea, the Skylarks still sang up above the stack.

The beach below looked to be fairly quiet.

"See you mate, see you Winston."

They walked the "easy" route back through the dunes.

Down on the beach, a lady in red walked south then north with her small dog and the water's edge for company.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog returned to the north.

The Seaton Carew Wreck was just coming ashore once more.

The lady in red led the way.

Up on the strand-line, a small dog did big dog barking as it tried to tempt it's owner to kick a ball.

They returned to the van.

Later, Beach Buoy went to the supermarket.

He hasn't been to Asda for months and months.

He did this evening.

They had Orange enamel mugs for sale.

They weren't as Orange as the beach man's hat, but Beach Buoy's bought a couple for the van.

SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL. 03, APRIL, 2024.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached the Park Car Park at 4-48 p.m.

They set off for the beach.
The new door runner was making the door close much more easily.
Beach Buoy needs to remind himself not so much force is needed now.

On The Esplanade, a couple headed north, coffees in hand.

The beach was misty.
The tide was a good way out.
There was a breeze from the north.

Three headed to the water's edge.
Off came shoes, misty or not.

The Seaton Carew Wreck was on show once more.
It's almost impossible to pass by without paying it a visit.

The Seaton Carew Wreck.

Five Gulls stood nearby as if about to burst into song.

A man and a doodle dog headed northwards.

Half term teenagers headed back towards the village just below the dune edge.
They walked a guilty looking walk.

Three Pebbles with Legs seemed to walk alongside Beach Buoy and Another Dog along the water's edge.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed to the long sandy slope.

Once at the top, the view across the "easy" route was damp and dismal.

"Afternoon Mate."
It was 5-32.
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.

Beach Buoy sat on the driftwood wedge over a metre long.
He sipped hot coffee as the breeze blew droplet-laden salty sea air into his face

After a while it was...
"See you mate."

A misty slow walk back.
Toby had written his name in the sand.
Or perhaps someone had written Toby's name in the sand?

Sea pottery .

Parked up for night.
They headed back to the van

The van.

SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL. 02, APRIL 2024.

 Tuesday.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached the beach at 4-45 p.m.

It was misty but mild.
The tide was well out, the beach seemed vast.
A light and pleasant breeze blew from the south east.

The Beach Huts in front of The Marine Hotel Horse.
Between them is Seaton Splash Pad and a playground.
New items were being added to the playground today.
Red and White bunting surrounded the play area.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed South.
Three ladies with three dogs all on leads walked the water's edge.

The Seaton Carew Wreck today.

Beach Buoy and Another continued south.
A man with a Corgi headed north.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed towards the big slope.
He could hear a tap tap sound from the dunes.
Around a corner sat three people around a small, safe beach bonfire
The tap tap was just the crackling of burning driftwood.

Sea pottery.

They reached Stubborn Dog at at 5-24.
"Afternoon Mate."
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He sat on the driftwood wedge about a metre long.
It restored his faith in human nature, the times a seat is left undisturbed.
Down on the Grey Rocks, below the dune edge, he could see the driftwood log.
Someone had actually bothered themselves to take it from the stack and roll it off the dune edge.

Beach Buoy sipped coffee as he watched the incoming tide claim the lower parts of the beach.

Waffle.

"See you mate."
They headed back along the easy route.

The tide was busy claiming the wreck once more.

They wandered their way back.

The wreck... (Again.)
😬

A Gull.

YOUNG LOVE AT WATER'S EDGE.

BEACH BUOY.

Monday, 1 April 2024

SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL.01 APRIL, 2024.

Beach Buoy was out of sorts.

No early beach on days off always does that.

He made a coffee for the beach.

He didn't close it properly.

By the time he had driven to the beach the coffee was in the van but not in the thermal flask.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached the beach at 2-34 p.m.
A metal detectorist beep beeped his way along the beach.
At the water's edge, young love leant into one another.
It would have made a wonderful photograph but Beach Buoy felt uneasy about taking the picture.
A drawing may have to do.
He made a stick couple sketch in his beach book.

It was grey.
Beach Buoy wasn't fully sure if it was drizzle-like mist or mist-like drizzle.

The tide was well out.

People stood like Groynes.

Someone had played a game of
noughts and crosses in the sand.

A family stood looking at the Seaton Carew Wreck.
A large dog ran aggressively at Another Dog.
Beach Buoy scooped her up out of harms way.

A man followed the sea as it pulled back.
He ended up with wet feet as it came back in.

A man throwing a ball for his Labrador came annoyingly close on such a wide beach.

The man with two Yorkshire Terriers walked north along the strand-line.

Beach fisherman.

Watching the end of the rod as you wait for a bite.
Or maybe texting someone.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed up to the "easy" route.

The too close man and his dog were now at a distance on the beach below.
The man sat on the Grey Rocks, watching the dog.
Or maybe texting someone.
The dog laid flat on the sand, watching the man.
He at least had left his phone at home.

"Afternoon Mate."
It was 3-16.
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
There was no coffee.
😟
Beach Buoy sat on the driftwood wedge about a metre long.
Two ladies walked by, heading north through the dunes.
Beach Buoy sat Another Dog on his knee to give them a clear route.
"Hiya."
said Beach Buoy.
"Hello."
"Hi."
answered the two ladies.

It became a little brighter.

More people headed south.

"See you mate."
Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed back to the beach.

The too close man began to head back.
His dog went over to bother the beach fisherman.
Typically the owner shouted and shouted his dog when a lead would have done the job ... quietly.

It didn't stay bright for long.
Light rain came.
Beach Buoy and Another Dog went.
