SEATON SANDS, 07 SEPT. 2020

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog reached the car park at 6-12 pm.
It was a bit blowy from the west.
Even though there were lots of clouds, it was a bright evening.

The tide was more in than it was out.
Shingle patches were scattered around in crunchy sand; the softer sand had been blown out to sea.
It was a fairly quiet beach.
They stacked the stack.
Beach Buoy looked west, over the dunes.
The Dune grass was a sea of green, with waves and rolls of its own as the  good ship wind travelled across it.

They had a slow walk back.
Soft warm droplets of rainwater kissed Beach Buoy on the cheek.
It wasn't rain as such, just the odd droplet that had been carried in the wind.

They drove around to the Sea Front, opposite The Village Green.

Beach Buoy drank coffee as he alternated between looking at the sea and the sky above The Green.

BEACH BUOY.

SEATON CAREW, 06 SEPT 2020 AN EVENING VISIT.

The sun had finally showed upon around 3 pm.
Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog headed for the beach later on....
It was 6-30 pm when they arrived.
They walked to the water's edge......

Then that was it...on strike!

They turned back towards the van and Stubborn Dog was a happy little chap.

Next stop; a spot just opposite the Village Green.

Seaton Hall had a sky full of fishes, narwhal and mermaids swimming above it.

Time to go.

BEACH BUOY.

SEATON SANDS, 06 SEPTEMBER 2020.

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog reached the beach car park
at 6-52 am.
The Golf Club Flag was flying at half mast once more.
A golfer was walking to play.
He passed the Amusement Arcades, pushing his golf clubs in front of him.
He was pushing one-handed, you know?- the way (Most) men push prams and pushchairs, although saying that nowadays, many  push one-handed as the other is usually busy on mobile phone duty.

Up on the promenade the couple with a story of their own were saying goodbye.
A council worker was sat in his truck.
The door was open.
He was trying to fasten his bootlace.
It was all a bit of a struggle.
Who put that steering wheel there?
He managed, shut the door and continued doing an excellent job of emptying the bins that were spread out along the length of the promenade.

It was a Covid 19 sunrise today; cloud mask and it had taken place behind closed doors.

They reached the water's edge at 7-02am.
A quick look to the north confirmed that the 7 am club were on their way south.
The sea and sky wore matching grey today.
The Strand line and water's edge were almost  as one, thanks to the high tide.
Autumnal  coloured twists of storm- torn seaweed spread out ahead as they headed south.
There was a slight breeze from the west, a.k.a; the right.

They stacked the stack.
The stack didn't seem to be growing in size, thanks to drifting sand burying it as it moved at the wind's pleasure.
The 7 am club had turned back to the north and were far off in the distance by the time Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog dawdled back to the sea.

Oyster Catchers and those "Pebbles with Legs." birds were feasting on these....
Thousands of them of them were on the strand line.
Beach  Buoy is reliably informed that they are Seaweed / Kelp Fly maggots.

They headed back to the van for the obligatory coffee and sit and think.

SEATON SANDS 05 SEPT 2020.

They left the house around 6 am.
A Dragonfly clung to the house wall next to the front door;
and so it begins.....
They reached the Car Park shortly afterwards.
Short short man was waiting for his beach companion.
A horse box had been unloaded.
The horse and rider were down on the beach already with their companions.
The companions were flying a drone, filming the horse and rider.
Unusually, the rider was not wearing protective head gear or riding type clothes either.
It looked more like a pop music video shoot, as the rider passed back and forth with the sunrise as a backdrop.
The rider flicking her long hair almost as much as the horse was flicking its tail.

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog walked down to the water's edge, waiting for the Sun to break clear of the horizon.
A few more stood to the north, waiting too.

The tide was high, meaning it was a narrow beach.
The sea was calm, just rippled slightly by the a chilly breeze from the south west.
People appeared on the narrow beach.
It was a little too busy for Beach Buoy's liking.

A three-legged dog came to say hello and receive an ear rub.
It was missing a back leg. It sat down next to Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog as if it was sitting side- saddle.
The couple with a story of their own passed and with the ear rub box ticked,  the little three-legged dog played catch up.

It was a lovely way to start the day.

The sun hung over the sea as the moon hung over the dunes.

A broken fishing rod stuck up in the sand.
Beach Buoy beach cleaned this on the way back.
They stacked the stack.
The stack doesn't seem to be becoming any bigger.
The thing is, as the stack is built, sand gathers around it.

They headed back to the beach and went as far as the grey rocks.

A slow walk back to the van for a coffee.
They passed the 7 am club on the way and Mari the large poodle trotted over
to check if there was any ear rubs left; there was.
Then three-legged  dog came back for seconds.
'He'll have you there all day!' said its owner

As Beach Buoy sat with the side door of the van open waiting for a stubborn Stubborn Dog to drink the water that he had poured for him, Chocolate Pudding Dog and its owner passed by.
'Oh I'd love a camper van!'  she said.
'Think of all the adventures you could have.'
They chatted  a while as Chocolate Pudding Dog checked out the ear rubs on offer.
Goodbyes were said and coffee was drank.
Time to go...

SEATON SANDS 04 09 2020.

It was 6-40 pm
There was a slight breeze from  the west and a unicyclist to the south.

They headed south.
Rain seemed to be pouring to the north, but thankfully it seemed to be heading out to sea.

The played Rain Russian Roulette and continued south to stack the stack.

They stood at the stack and watched as the rain continued it journey east, like some giant shower curtain drawing across the bay.

They rested on the Promenade Wall.
A man came and stood nearby.
They discussed the distant rain.
The man went on to inform Beach Buoy of what latitude line that they were stood on and the name of the first town you would reach if you went straight out to sea.
Apparently it is a town in Germany where two of the Great Escapers were caught, just miles from freedom.
And ... if you drew a line from where they were stood and crossed the cliff edge at Saltburn you would reach Rotterdam...
They said their goodbyes.

Beach Buoy drew an imaginary line from where he was stood through the lifeguard huts and it gave them a parking spot opposite the Village Green.
They drove there.
Coffee and Radio Two.
Tony Blackburn followed by Gary Davies.
Beach Buoy stepped out of the van to check that it hadn't changed into a DeLorean; it hadn't.
Good job , those flux capacitors are becoming harder to find by the day.

SEATON SANDS 03 SEPTEMBER 2020.

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog arrived at 6-10 pm.
A couple were having a bit of a falling out as they headed down the access slope.
Not long afterwards, the lady came back alone.

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog made the short walk down to the water's edge.
The tide had not long turned.
It was sunny with a strong breeze from the west.

Seaweed was acting as a strand line marker.

They sat on a driftwood bench.

They headed back.

It was a busy and narrow beach this evening.

They sat down near the Village Green.

SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL. 2 SEPTEMBER 2020.

6-30pm
It was a blustery beach.
A lady dressed herself in a wet/ dry suit and headed for a sea swim.

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog headed for the water's edge.

The cooler weather had help to keep the beach quiet.

There was lots of shingle after the recent rough seas.
Shingle can mean finds; it did.

They stacked the stack.

The temperature dropped and the wind picked up.
They quickly made their way back to the van.

They drove around to the village green for a smug mug of coffee; they had beaten the rain.

SEATON SANDS, 01 SEPTEMBER 2020.

One of the world's slowest readers has a new book delivered.

They arrived at the car park at 6-16 pm.
A Pied-Wagtail welcomed them.
Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog headed for the water's edge, as they did so, the Sun headed for the clouds.

Attachment.

Bottle Top.

Thankfully the beach was quiet and the sky was dramatic.

They stacked the stack, then headed back.

Some sea pottery; left for others.

Water's edge.

Later, they parked on the promenade.
The moon was so dramatic; a Deep Orange.
Beach Buoy's phone didn't take a very good picture...

So.....
