SEATON SANDS, 23 OCT, 2020

Beach Buoy and Stubborn walked to the beach.
It felt like summer had stopped over for a couple of hours as it waited for a connecting flight south, leaving when we needed it most.
That happens sometimes.
They reached  the beach at 4-18 pm
A cloud hung over the little village on the north east coast of England.
If 2020 was a cloud, it would be this evil looking cloud.
Horses were being unloaded from horse boxes in the car park.

The Sun was providing plenty of heat.

Three people headed for the sea; they had two small surf type  boards to share.

The evil cloud watched as they headed south.

South it was.
Although the beach may look fairly empty, Beach Buoy and Stubborn had to zig zag a little, to avoid other people.
Beach Buoy had been social distancing for much of his life.

They didn't head for the stack as they travelled south as
 someone was there.
Horses were down at the north end of the beach.

The sea began to reclaim the beach as its own, seeking out any low points.

The horses came south and left wet prints in their wake.

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog headed for a shingle strip that stretched mid way along the length of the grey rocks.
Creating an upper and lower tier; cheap seats and balcony, both had the best view in the house.

A Stubborn Dog cloud appeared.
Stubborn Dog to the rescue!
It headed off to chase the evil cloud.

Of course the Stubborn Dog cloud moved much more quickly than the real deal.

An angel cloud took the place of the evil one.

Job Done.

They stacked the stack.

Bird sea pottery.

The sun began to set behind the Dunes.

As they crossed the car park, reluctant horses were being loaded
into the waiting horse boxes.
Two women rested on the promenade wall talking.
One had a halloween laugh.

 Time to head back.

SEATON CAREW 21 10 20.

They made it to the Promenade just after sunset.

They walk some Promenade, they walked some beach.

Surfers surf at dusk.

Three white VW vans lined the sea front.

20-10-20 SEATON SANDS.

They walked to the beach.
It was bright, warm and sunny.
There was a breeze; a mild one.
A snake of dry sand slithered along the promenade, powered by the breeze.

It was a grand evening.
They walked to the water's edge.

They carried out a Duck rescue.

The stack view.

SEATON SANDS 19 OCT 2020.

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog walked to the beach.
They arrived around 4-10 pm.
It was overcast with a slight breeze from the south west.
Surfer type waves broke out in the bay.
The tide was more in than out.
They had a slow walk.
They stacked the stack.
They headed back.

SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL SUNDAY 18 OCTOBER 2020.

They left the house at 6-26 am.
They walked to the beach
It was dark.
Birds in the trees were singing theirs hearts out.
As they walk down Elizabeth Way the could see the bright lights of the Wind Turbines out in the Bay.
The lights seemed to flashing, it was the three large blades passing in front of the lights in the darkness that was creating a flashing effect.
They rested on the Promenade Wall.
A Council Worker was emptying the Promenade Bins.
The flashing orange light on his truck seemed to intrigue Stubborn Dog.

They headed for the beach.
There was a chilly breeze that only became noticeable when they had reached the open expanse of the beach.
Beach Buoy pulled up is two hoods.
They reached the water's edge at 7-02 am
The 7 am club were to the north; heading south.

A man was exercising near the dunes in the half light.

The rough seas had washed some of the dune edges away.

Clouds of white sea foam drifted across the beach, carried by the strong breeze.

They stacked the stack, drank warm coffee and watched a silver- grey sea roll in.

They returned to the beach, passing a piece of driftwood showing the cuts of craftsmanship and cracks of time and tide.

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog headed for the grey rocks, they paused to drink the last of the coffee.

A young couple passed them, hand in hand on the way to the Blue Lagoon.

A driftwood Mother rests up at the dune edge with its young.

They had a slow walk back.

The dog ban is over for a few months now, so Beach Buoy went a little further north than they would have normally.

So it was goodbye beach.

The beach morphed into promenade steps.

Patrol.
Control.

Beach Award 2020.

Two Seagulls tried to calculate what time the chip shops would be opening.

Time to head back.

Time to do the blog.

SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL, SATURDAY 17 OCT 2020.

It was a still, damp morning.
Beach Buoy had been awake since 5 am.
They set off in the darkness at 6-40 am
Beach Buoy's phone battery said 96%
Beach Buoy was about 48 %
The phone's weather app said 90%
chance of cloud, so chances of a visible sunrise were looking slim.

As they walked to the beach,
Birds sang in unlit trees trying to fool themselves and possibly anyone listening that it was spring

They reached the promenade wall.
It was still dark.
A cyclist had stopped at the end of the promenade.
his  bike's lights flashed like marker buoys.

A couple were down by the water's edge.
Beach Buoy could just make out their outlines as they headed south.

Beach Buoy drank hot coffee.
The daylight increased slightly so they headed for the beach.

They headed for the water's edge.
It was 7-02am.
To the North, bang on time; the 7am club.
The club's dogs had flashing collars of differing colours.
They dashed and flashed from owners to the sea and back.

They had a slow walk to the south, waiting for some sort of appearance from the sun.

Beach Buoy stopped about half way along the beach to finish the coffee that he had brought.

The juxtaposition of the hot coffee and cool breeze was enjoyable.

The coffee seemed to lubricate Beach Buoy's creaking mechanism.

Mari the big friendly poodle from the 7 am club came bounding over to say hello.

They said hello.
They said goodbye.

Beach Buoy headed for the stack to wait for sunrise time.
A fellow beach-goer stood by the water's edge.
He was waiting too, with phone camera at the ready.

The sun appeared; albeit briefly.
It rose above the Gares like a large orange disc.
It's full circle then slipped into the clouds like a coin into an arcade machine.

They had a slow walk back with fine drizzle and seagulls for company.
Beach Buoy dug his cold wet hands into the pockets of his jeans.
Before leaving the beach, he glanced back to the south....

Someone had pulled the handle of the arcade machine

The Oranges had become Lemons; still a win.

They left the beach

It was still a damp morning.

SEATON SANDS, FRIDAY 16 OCTOBER 2020.

They had left the house on foot at around 4-50 pm.

It was a sunny afternoon.
The Bus Station Clock Tower was bathed in glorious sunlight.
The tide had not long turned from high.
A Ginger lady walked a Ginger dog across the car park.

Stubborn Dog took the chance to rest as Beach took blog photographs.
He wouldn't be going on strike tonight after missing a beach on Thursday.

The Sun was already low in the sky.
Their shadows walked the waves.
The sea was busy but only breaking about three or four steps out into the bay.
The fact that it was high tide seemed to add to the hubbub.

Taking Flight.

Foot high cliffs.

They stood at the stack and looked West...

Then East.....

Then South....

and finally to the North.

A stitch in time.

Gulls seemed to take turns drifting out from the dunes.

The sun set.
they left......
