20th of FEB 2020. SEATON SANDS ... THE BEACH

Beach Buoy and old Stubborn Dog arrived in the newly extended car park at 3-40pm.
The new part of the car park is now open.
The Bin Wagons that were lined up, shuffled back to the depot around 3-45pm.
It was very bright and very breezy.

They headed to the water's edge.
They looked to the North.....

... then headed South.
They did the dune thing.

The strength of the wind seemed to increase.
Beach Buoy carried his little mate when the drifting sand became a problem.
They headed back to the van.
Beach Buoy had been hearing really unusual bird song recently.
It sounded as if it was coming from over near the golf club?
It seemed to making a range of calls that Beach Buoy didn't recognise.
It was too early for the skylarks and the calls are different.
Is there some exotic bird in the area?

SEATON SANDS AND NEWBURN BRIDGE BEACH 16 FEB. 2020.

Storm Dennis had raged through the night, the rain had  fell on rain.
Beach Buoy arrived at 7-37am.
The Car Park was empty, which was a welcome surprise.
There was a slight breeze.
An arc of clearer sky curved around the Headland.

It was still dark and gloomy to the south.
As they headed south, so did the brightness.
Beach Buoy was feeling like a proper ray of sunshine for a change.
A man and a dog headed back from the south crossing his own southbound footprints.

The stack and the Sea Serpent marker.

They shuffled back down to the water's edge.

A slivery Sun brightened the view to the south.

Part of beach clean...
destined for the van dashboard and a possible respray?

The beach clean van is in location
(Behind the Monkey's tail.)
No executive decision has been made as yet about its respray.
This photograph was taken in the afternoon, down by Newburn Bridge.
They had parked up with a sea view
Beach Buoy had a warm drink, cake and to be honest nodded off for a while; the van is a peaceful place.
Just as Beach Buoy knew it would be.

They headed out onto a blustery Newburn Bridge Beach and its seacoal-dusted sands.

The Beach is a couple of miles north of Beach Buoy's usual haunt of Seaton Sands.

SEATON SANDS AND HARTLEPOOL HEADLAND 15 FEB. 2020.

Beach Buoy woke, it was still dark.
He reached for his mobile phone that was on charge nearby.
5-56.
'Just gone Subaru o'clock.'
thought Beach Buoy.
He laid in the darkness.
Storm Dennis was due today but all sounded peaceful in the outside world.
Dennis wasn't being a menace just yet.
Up.
Coffee.
Beach Buoy checked the weather using his movie phone.
50% chance of rain by 10 am.
By 6-42 am the Gulls and the Sea were calling.
Stubborn Dog was flat out on a fake fur blanket.
'Beach?'..... nothing.
'Out for walk?'...... nothing.
'Van."... nothing.
Any other dog would be wagging, rushing to the front door and possibly barking by all of this...... nothing.
Beach Buoy made the move and did a pretend front door opening..... nothing.
So Beach Buoy went out to van, a quick check back inside the hallway and there he was; Stubborn Dog.
They finally reached the Beach Car Park at 6-57 am.
The Car Park was empty.
Beach Buoy faffed and put on his Beach Boots.
This is usually when a car zooms into the Car Park,
with barking Dogs and an out and ready owner, they head off just in front of Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog.
This always spoils the walk a little.
Today was different; faff complete and they were off.
A Lone Seagull stood at the top of a promenade light as he seemed to laugh at his own jokes.

It was a dull grey morning.
This time yesterday the sky was a ball of fire in colour, but then again Beach Buoy was stood in a factory doorway back then, whereas now he was on the beach.
You can't always have everything can you?

The 7 am club were down by the water's edge, heading south.
Beach Buoy stuck to the dune edge to give them space.

Beach Buoy had two hoods up and was in his own little world ; he was miles away yet only around the corner .
All of a sudden ... wet dog nose in hand alert!
Mari; the big friendly poodle had made a dash and caught Beach Buoy off guard.
'Hello.'
'Have you had a nice walk?'
Beach Buoy always asks.
As yet the dog is still to answer.
The Big Dog was off after a neck scratch.
The dog had lifted Beach Buoy's spirits a little.

They headed for the stack.
The regular late arrival went by, on their way to catch the
 7 am club up.
The Chocolate Brown Dog had his Yellow Coat on.
Pudding and Custard.
They caught the 7 am club up
Dogs greeted Dogs
Dogs greeted owners.
Owners greeted owners.

After a stand and think at the stack, Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog had a slow walk back.
A slight break in the clouds gave the hint of an aeroplane's vapour trail.
It looked like a toilet roll thrown in a 1960's F A Cup Match.
Surely the loudest boat in the world chugged out of the Tees.
They arrived back at the van as Four cars pulled up in the Car Park, unloading their cargoes of Barking Dogs and out and ready owners...
'Have Fun!.'
Beach Buoy headed off.
Beach Buoy washed the van.... again.

Mid-afternoon and Storm Dennis arrived.
Beach Buoy was over on Hartlepool's Headland.
The van rocked from side to side in the wind.

Lots of White Horses as Beach Buoy looked over towards Midleton.

Across the Bay, Seaton Carew Beach looked like a bit of a sand storm?

A Fishing Boat returned to Port.

Safe.

SEATON SANDS, 14 FEB, 2020.

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog arrived on a fairly mild beach at 4-20 pm.
A Pied-wagtail wagged on the promenade as a Beachcomber combed the beach.
Sirens blasted along the sea front.
Five or six emergency vehicles dashing about.
There was a breeze from the dunes to the west.
They did the dune visit and headed back.

In the evening Beach Buoy received a nice message from a film maker @CalebYule from Brighton.
He let Beach Buoy know that he has finished his film
Tide and Time

The film will be released later this year..
He thanked Beach Buoy for his support at the beginning of the project
'When it was at its toughest.'
Nice One.

SEATON SANDS, SEATON CAREW, HARTLEPOOL 13 FEB 2020.

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog arrived in the car park at
3-40 pm.
They had passed the regular scene of two rain-dancing Seagulls that stand and stomp on the triangular traffic island at the end of the road.
It had worked.
It had been raining and was still spitting.
As they arrived, the rain started to increase.
They wrapped up and set off.
The Sea and Sky were grey; the breaking waves were a crisp white.

They a saw a young seal.
It seemed to be Ok?
They gave it a wide berth and headed to the dunes.

The tide was going to peak in under two hours.

The Sea would come to the Seal.

SEATON SANDS 12 FEB. 2020

Wednesday 4-06 pm.
Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog headed for the beach.
The sea was pulled across the bay like a drawn silk curtain.

It was bright with a slight breeze.

They headed south  at the water's edge as their sunshine shadows frolicked  in the shallows of the north sea.

They had a wander and a wonder...

SEATON SANDS 11 02 20

It was 4pm.
It was windy.
It was bright.

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog headed south.
The tide was high, that westerly wind had a bit of a bite  to it.

Gusting drifting sand saw Beach Buoy pick up his little beach mate on quite a few occasions.

They headed up to the dunes and admired the view.
A slow walk back ensued and as it did so an arm of bad weather travelled towards the bay to encompass it.
Luckily they had timed their return to perfection.
They climbed into the van as rain fell across the windscreen in diagonal wind-blown lines.
They set off as the rain became sleet.

SEATON SANDS, 10 FEB 2020.

It was a Monday afternoon; 3-35pm.
Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog headed down to a high tide.
It was bright with a chilly strong breeze from the west.

The Sea tried to kiss the dunes but it was too late, the tide had already turned.
Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog headed up to the dunes.
They received an extra blast of winter chill for their efforts.
The stack is coming along nicely.

They headed back to the cosy van.
Beach Buoy isn't the type of person to buy a private reg number.
Some apt ones happen by accident.
Beach Buoy realised the other day that the van's registration  number was an anagram of
Y3S COSY....
that'll do nicely
🚐👍
