100 years ago today 
Ian Pyott took off from Seaton Carew with a  new weapon of exploding bullets and shot down a German Zeppelin over Hartlepool Bay.
The Zeppelin had bombed the town.
The German Crew that was washed ashore were buried with full military honours in Seaton Carew.
The Zeppelin was captained by Marlene Dietrich's Uncle.
