It was my first day off and first beach for two weeks !
It was pouring down back in Hartlepool, so a quick check on a weather app showed North was the place to head.
It was chilly but dry and a bit of Sun thrown into the mix too.
More by chance than planning the tide was low.
The Lifeboat Station at Newbiggin by the Sea is pictured above. It is the oldest working lifeboat station in the U.K.
Earlier in the day a tractor with a trailer reversed into the Sea to collect the incoming lifeboat.
The area was redeveloped in 2007, after years of erosion the beach was re-stocked with 500000 tons of sand from Skegness.
Maybe I could claim Skegness as another Beach?
In my opinion a visit at low tide is the best as the Beach looks tidal so I would imagine there isn't much Beach to walk on at high tide? |
