Funny old world.
A couple of days ago Beach Buoy blogged a blog about a
beach walk before blogs.
He picked a random date.
He hadn't seen this Diary for ages.
He found it today whilst looking for something else.
The dates weren't the same as the random one, but were only a week or two off.
Funny Old world.
Looks like we went to Saltburn the day British Summertime
began.
Lighter nights!
That pleases Beach Buoy so much.
The next day  Beach Buoy was off school due to a gas strike that had gone for weeks.
We always dug bait down at Middleton to the North of the Banjo Jetty.

We went to the beach early.
Owen was Dad's best friend.
They had been friends since childhood.
Beach
Buoy recalls this day.
If memory is served well Owen's wife had recently passed away.
With Dad driving the white Ford Escort works van, Owen sat in the passenger seat and Beach Buoy was just in the back of the van.
They went over to Hartlepool Headland and sat watching the sea, eating the best pies in the world from Paddy Byers Shop.

Another trip to Middleton Beach. Beach Buoy remembers the rubber ring well. It was about the size of a wheelbarrow wheel. Perfect for throwing for Duke the Dog.
