SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL. 28, JANUARY 2025.

Beach Buoy, Borrowed Dog and Another Dog reached Seaton Park Car Park at 8-18 a.m.

Drizzle.

The Tractor Driver arrived at the beach access ramp shortly after they had stepped onto the beach. He made metallic noises as he unlocked the barrier.

A slight breeze from the north carried the drizzle across the bay.
A Hopping and Hopeful Crow followed them as they headed south.

The tide was well out.
They continued south.

The drizzle fizzled out.

They arrived at the wreck.

They had company...

To the north, the Tractor headed to the sea, returning wind-blown sand.

A lady in a black coat, shouted a dog in a red coat.

The lady who walks the beach was returning to the north.

Mr.Gunn/Lunn and excellent dog Alfie caught up.

They walked and chatted all the way to North Gare Pier.

Beach Buoy searched the shingle.

Mr.Gunn/Lunn and Excellent Dog Alfie clambered up the Pier side to continue their circular walk.

In other words, they went their separate ways.

Beach Buoy had collected some suitable stones.

A lady and her dog were walking the water's edge, heading south.
Beach Buoy and the dogs crossed over the grey rocks.
The lady and her dog had space now.

They headed to Stubborn Dog Stack from the south, along the base of the dune edge.
There would be no more Dune Troll issues.
Beach Buoy had made that fairly clear.

9-21
"Morning Mate."
Beach Buoy added the suitable stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He looked out at the swooping grey clouds, each a different shade.

"See you mate."

Back to the beach.
They walked the low level route.

They returned north.
It was a grey morning but that was fine.

The greyness was like an old comfortable overcoat.
Not itchy or scratchy, just comfortable.
The type of coat that gives you a hug when you put it on.

A lady walked the water's edge as her small dog chased birds.

The Beach Tractor headed to the sea once more.
Beach Buoy and the Tractor must be strange soulmates...

As they passed the last of the dunes, ten dogs had come tumbling over.
The "Professional" dog walkers had arrived.

They passed the wreck once more .

They headed back to the van and the Post Card mural.

SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL 27, JANUARY 2025.

It was a new beach book day.

Beach Buoy did a school run, collecting Borrowed Dog was part of the deal.

Beach Buoy passed his old infant/ junior school.

He was ink and milk monitor.

Did well not to become confused.

He passed "that" field.

The field were aged 9, Beach Buoy stood.

He had on the school C team shirt on.

It was to be his trial

He started as substitute.

Waiting eagerly.

Half time ...

Still waiting...

A minute before full time a horrified teacher, Mr.Illingworgh realised.

Time for a substitute.

Off came Arthur Jenkins with muddy boots and a glare.

On trotted Beach Buoy.

Full time whistle.

That was it

Over half a century later.

Recalled like it was yesterday.

Let it go.

Let it go.

Let it go.

Beach Buoy, Borrowed Dog and Another Dog headed to the beach.

They had parked in Seaton Park.

8-14 a.m.

After a faff they set off for the beach.

A milky Sun was up.

The tide was way out.

There was a chill in the breeze from the south west.

A lady headed south along the strand-line with her Terrier.

A man walked his German Shepherd by the sea.

A Beach Tractor trundled northwards.

The sound of a bad news siren echoed and rebounded off the sea front buildings.

The wreck today.

Beach Buoy and the dogs continued south.

Beach Buoy collected five sandy-coloured stones that were suitable for the stack.

View from the low level route.
The frost had gone.

No one to the north.

One man and his dog down by the Pier
It's great to see some of the old television shows making a comeback.

"Morning Mate.".
It was 9-04.
Beach Buoy added five suitable and sandy stones.
He patted
THE
stone.

He watched the sea..

"See you mate."

Down to the beach.
North to clear the grey rocks..south once more to the Tank Traps.

South into bright sunlight and a not unpleasant breeze.

Sand had claimed much of the searchable shingle.

A couple of pieces of sea glass.
Left "as agreed."

Some of the Tank Traps have faired better than others.

A twitter mate came along with his two splendid dogs.

They chatted and walked for a while.

"Morning!".X3

Mr Gunn/Lunn and excellent dog Alfie passed by.

They all went their separate ways.

Beach Buoy returned north.

A man was heading south with his two dogs.

It was a stranger to Beach Buoy but he raised a hand.

"Morning." said Beach Buoy.

"Morning Paul."

The man knew Beach Buoy well, worked with him.

They chatted.

They went their separate ways.

Least it wasn't Arthur Jenkins...

26, JANUARY 2025. SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL.

Beach Buoy drove to Seaton Park alone.

Another Dog really not keen this morning.

He drove along The Front.

A lazy flag hung at half mast at The Golf Club.

An old man shuffled towards the newsagents as if  that Sunday paper was a death sentence...

Grandparents pushed an early morning pushchair.

Perhaps wishing more sleeping had taken place on the sleep over?

A lady with her two wheeled shopping trolley, stood like a meerkat at the bus stop.

He arrived at the park at 7-54 a.m.

He set off for the beach.

Not Beach Buoy and his small dog were beach-bound also.

They led the way down the Station Lane access ramp.

As to further confirm that it was Not Beach Buoy, he broke into a trot!

Sea swimmers went for a dip, leaving the frost-edged beach behind.

Not Beach Buoy and his dog headed south.
They only ever walk to the start of the dunes before turning towards The Esplanade.
There was a chill in the air.
It was almost still.
Just the slightest of breezes from the south West.

Team One Black Ear were heading back.
They were way over near The Esplanade Wall.
They shared distant waves.
Beach Buoy noticed that Milo the borrowed dog must have finally returned home.
He will miss the beach, going back to street walks.

The Seaton Carew Wreck was well ashore.
It lay up ahead.

A metal detectorist scanned and walked the beach at a rapid rate
It looked like he was doing last minute hoovering , knowing that someone was due to visit at short notice.

Beach Buoy approached the wreck.
Two hoods and zips were up.

The Sun began to clear low cloud.

The wreck today...

Others walked northwards along the water's edge.

The Beachcombing Border Collie Couple searched as they returned to the north.

The lady with a white dog and a black dog headed south up near the dunes.

Another metal detectorist scanned and walked at a slower pace.

Beach Buoy glanced back to the north.
His long sunshine shadow seemed reluctant to leave the village behind.

Beach Buoy aimed for the lower level route to the stack.
He gathered five suitable stones.

The route was frosted.

At least the sand was soft, just dusted with frost.

"Morning Mate."
It was 8-34.
Beach Buoy added the suitable stones
He patted
THE
stone.
He sat on a driftwood plank with plenty of rust.

He watched the beach below.
A man seemed to walk on water as he returned  northwards.

"See you mate."
Beach Buoy returned to the beach.
North for a short while to clear the grey rocks, then south

A temporary island appeared.
Beach Buoy claimed it and named it
Calf of Snook.

He searched the Tank Trap shingle.

He left his finds for The Mermaids, as agreed.

He turned to head back.
The tide was coming in.

His temporary island had just become sea.

Beach Buoy still had two hoods up.
He walked back in a zig zag pattern following a route that enabled a game of beach bubble wrap as he progressed northwards.

A Border Collie, more white than black, waited for it's lady owner to catch up.

The lady who loves the beach was just setting off to the south with her companion and her German Shepherd.

He passed the wreck and a small black dog.

Mr. Gunn /Lunn and excellent dog Alfie had not long joined the beach.
They chatted.
Alfie came over for a shoulder scratch.
They went their separate ways.

25, JANUARY 2025.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog drove to the beach.

To be more factual, Beach Buoy drove and Another Dog just changed the gears.

They arrived at 8-12 a.m.

They had passed Rita the Meter Maid as she headed to The Front.

They headed to The Esplanade.

A man walked ahead of them.

He had his trousers tucked into his socks.

For some reason it filled Beach Buoy with a sense of distrust.

As they headed down Station Road access ramp, they could see a Metal Detectorist looking for gold.

"LOOK LEFT!"
shouted Beach Buoy's imagination

They began to head south.

There was a chilly breeze blowing from the west.

Some lovely post-storm clouds.

The view north gave Beach Buoy and idea for a book.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed southwards, alongside the calmest of seas.
The Seaton Carew Wreck was still at sea.

A couple beachcombed along the strand-line.

Four men crossed the dunes to reach the car park.

Seaton Snooks Tea Room cloud of the week winner.

Once more Beach Buoy gave up the water's edge for another to enjoy it in peace.

He began to wander towards the low level route to Stubborn Dog Stack.

"Morning Mate "
It was 8-54.
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
He sat on the driftwood plank with plenty of rust, with plenty of thoughts.

" See you mate."

They returned to the low level route.
Back to the beach.
The lady and her dog were still enjoying the water's edge, together alone, but to the north now.

Beach Buoy spotted a bonnie stone.

He turned it over.
It was a stone that had been thrown from Stubborn Dog Stack by some clown.
Beach Buoy placed into his beach bag.
It would be returned next visit.

A ship on the horizon looked like a block of flats.
It was heading to the River Tees.

A lady in red was Beachcombing.
Her plastic bag seemed to be well loaded with finds?

Four Fishermen.
The same four men who had walked by the sea before crossing the dunes to the car park

They headed to North Gare.
The logistics of the whole operation seemed to be wrong?

A Labrador ran from Car Park to and in the Sea.
Then back to the owner.
Then back to the sea.
Repeat
Repeat
Repeat
Until the owner too was by the sea.
They rushed southwards along the water's edge.

A family of three paused to take a selfie.
Their dog ran around  in circles but not in photographs.

Ever closer.
A Tees Tug came out between The Gares.

Feeding time.
Beach Buoy fed four Crows, leaving each a small pile food from his container.

Up ahead, The Metal Detectorist had discovered more Detectorists.

Beep.
"Coin!"
One of the Detectorists shouted to another.
"Just a penny, l think?"

A Brown Spaniel in a bright red coat , ran to one of the other detectorists.
It seemed to be asking if he had found a lost ball.
It wagged it's tail as it waited for a response.

Beep beep.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog stopped to talk to Mr.Gunn/ Lunn up on The Esplanade.
He and Excellent Dog Alfie were late arriving today.
