MONDAY 30 JAN 2017, SEATON SANDS.

No lifts to do tonight so it was straight to The Beach after work.
The tide was high, so any finds were minimal.

The finds.
The Brown piece with a stamp mark shows
CHESTERFIELD.

29 JAN. 2017. SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL.

IT WAS AN AFTER WORK WALK.
THE SKY OVER THE TOWN LOOKED FANTASTIC ESPECIALLY AFTER SPENDING THE DAY IN A FACTORY.
I LOVED THE SMALL PUFFS OF WHITE CLOUD.

IN CONTRAST THE SKY OVER THE SEA HAD A HINT OF PINK AND YELLOW AS THE DAY STARTED PACKING IT'S BAGS FOR THE NIGHT AHEAD.

THE HIGH TIDE WAS JUST ON THE TURN SO THE BEACH VISITORS WERE FORCED TO SHARE THE STRAND LINE.

A WHITE HEART.

SOME SEA WORN WOODEN ITEM.

SOMEONE HAD HAD FUN EARLIER IN THE DAY BY BUILDING A BRIDGE ACROSS A GAP IN THE SAND DUNES.
SAFE WORKING LOAD; UNKNOWN.

PLASTIC NURDLES ON THE STRAND LINES, THESE WERE SCOOPED UP AND BINNED.

HE WAS RELUCTANT TO TURN BACK
I KNEW HOW HE FELT BUT A HOT BATH WAS CALLING. AND LIGHT WAS FADING.
AS WE GOT BACK TO THE CAR THE LIGHT HAD GONE AND I COULD SEE THE TORCHLIGHT OF THE BEACH NIGHTSHIFT WORKING THEIR WAY ALONG THE SANDS.

28 JAN. 2017, SEATON SANDS AND NORTH GARE BEACH.

The tide has just turned and was heading back in.
It was a dull morning with a hint of rain.
The amount of shingle made me hopeful of finds.

I headed towards the North Gare and looked back at an almost empty beach. The strips of shingle can be seen in the distance.

There was plenty of shingle down by the North Gare and this Codd Bottle Sea Alley shone like a diamond in the dull morning gloom.

Another one!
This time a proper kids marble type sea alley.

And another Codd Bottle sea alley.

I crossed over to the North Gare Beach aka The Blue Lagoon.
A ship slipped into port down the River Tees.

The Blue Lagoon was edged by a ring of Seacoal
and.........

a total of around 50 dead starfish.

An old beached Buoy quietly corrodes down by the River mouth.

I never usually find much over near the Tees but the recent storm surge had changed the beach landscape a little.
There was lots of shingle patches to explore, one of them turned up this little beauty glass bottle stopper.

I crossed back over to the Seaton Carew side of the Pier, with two dogs in tow. I found this tied bag down amongst the shingle.
I placed it down to photograph and examine. I thought I could feel a large coin inside the bag?
I noticed the string was nylon , so I knew then that the contents could be fairly recent.

Contents.
1. Plastic toy.
2. A 1967 threepenny coin.
3. A 1977 Queen's Jubilee Coin.

The pot finds from today with a couple of pieces of clay pipe stems.

Coins, glass, alleys and a bottle top.

Another book landed on the doorway today for the world's most reluctant reader, aka ME.

26 JAN. 2017 SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL.

A bitterly cold night time beach walk.
I couldn't leave the seal strangling pieces of rope behind, so it was a quick #2minutebeachclean.

Torchlight finds.
I thought the Pot would have said HARTLEPOOL
but it turned out to be
W.P.HARTLEY.. marmalade
I found one on line and it has a lighthouse symbol on.
You can maybe just see part of it of my sherd of pottery?

SEATON SANDS 22 01 17

Late afternoon back in Sunny Seaton Carew.

After recent spate of book buying, it crossed my mind that I should write a  book called Beachcombing for Dummies.
I think they are comforters or pacifiers in America?

It always amazes me what you come across on the Beach.

A hefty piece of Jaw, the teeth were quite narrow.

Another stone face.

Finds.
Today was my first chance to get right along to the North Gare in daylight since the recent Storm Surge.
I was hoping for some marbles or bottle tops; it wasn't to be.
The Rocks down near the Gare have been thrown around and much shingle had been thrown into the gaps.
By the time I left the light was fading.
No doubt a clear frosty night in store.

BEACH BOUY.

LITTLE HAVEN BEACH SOUTH SHIELDS 22 01 17. AND A NEW BOOK.

I HAVE ANOTHER BEACH BOOK TO GET AROUND TO READING.

HERD GROYNE, IN THE RIVER TYNE.

IT HAD JUST TURNED FROM HIGH TIDE.
THIS LITTLE BEACH IS JUST SOUTH OF THR RIVER TYNE.
IT WAS A BITTERLY COLD DAY

A MARKER ABOUT HALF WAY ALONG THE BEACH.

A STRUCTURE ON THE PROM.

A COUPLE OF PIECES OF SMALL DRIFTWOOD AND SOME OLD BOTTLE PARTS.

SEATON SANDS 19-01-17.

One of two stone hearts found tonight.

It was dark and no bright Moon to guide the way.
Oddly I could see both ends of the beach tonight and the sea too.
Maybe my eyes are getting used to the dark or maybe there was another light source I isn't aware of.
The sea was fairly calm and the Origami Waves folded onto the quiet beach in a regular pattern.
Once in a while a larger wave would belly flop onto the shore and make me turn to check a soaking wasn't heading my way.

Tonight's finds.
The pot will have stated
HARTLEPOOL

This arrived today.
I am the world's laziest reader.
I have bought a few beach books recently and there is another due tomorrow. I must must read more.
The pull of the beach is very strong, and now the darkness isn't an issue I cannot use the dark night excuse not to read. I will have to find a time to force myself to sit down and read and relax in a different way.

BOOK BUOY

SEATON SANDS 18 01 17.. A TORCHLIGHT WALK.

A really mild night.
Torches out again.
Beats walking the chuffing Prom anytime!!!

#2minutebeachclean
to be honest there was lots more, caught up on the incoming tide  just rolling around,
it seems like the tides after the Storm Surge
are bringing the expected rubbish a few days late?

Not much in the finds department.
Well it was dark!
Another nice little piece of hardwood driftwood.
