NORTH SANDS,HARTLEPOOL

HARTLEPOOL HEADLAND.

THE RAMP GAVE ACCESS TO THE BEACH.
I HAVE LIVED IN HARTLEPOOL ALL MY LIFE, BUT HAD NEVER BEEN ON THIS BEACH!

UP A SAND BANK AND WE GET TO SPION KOP CEMETERY.
I HAVE BEEN TO THE CEMETERY MANY TIMES BUT NOT VIA THE BEACH.

I DID SOME RESEARCH INTO CAPTAIN LAWRENCE A NUMBER OF YEARS AGO AND MADE CONTACT WITH HIS DESENDANTS WHO HAD CONTINUED THE MARITIME TRADITION.
THE LAST TWO LINES STATE
"AND THERE SHALL BE NO MORE SEA."
R.I.P. CAPTAIN.

A STONE SEEN AS YOU LEAVE THE CEMETERY FOR THE BEACH.

THE WAY BACK.

STEETLEY PIER WITH A SECTION REMOVED,POSSIBLY TO STOP FISHERMEN USING IT?

AS USUAL HE KNOWS WHEN WE START TO HEAD BACK... IT'S A DRAG.

THE VIEW SOUTH.

"CAN'T WE STAY?"

IN THE DISTANCE A YACHT MAKING USE OF THE STRONG WIND.

THE FINDS.

BEACH BUOY.
