31 YEARS AND A DRIFTWOOD TIDY UP.

IT WAS  ALL BECOMING A CLUTTER.

THIS IS A PLATE TO ATTACH A VICE TO THE CLUTTERED WORKBENCH.
A VICE THAT WAS LAST USED 31 YEARS AGO BY MY FATHER.....THE PLATE HAD LAID AROUND FOR ALL THAT TIME.
 

I GAVE THE BOLTS A SQUIRT OF OIL WHILST I MADE AND FITTED THE SHELF BELOW.

A SHELF TO HELP WITH SPACE.

THE VICE WAS THEN FITTED...... COBWEB TOO.

OPPPS! ANOTHER TUB OF SEA GLASS.

A BIT TIDIER.

NORTH SANDS,HARTLEPOOL

HARTLEPOOL HEADLAND.

THE RAMP GAVE ACCESS TO THE BEACH.
I HAVE LIVED IN HARTLEPOOL ALL MY LIFE, BUT HAD NEVER BEEN ON THIS BEACH!

UP A SAND BANK AND WE GET TO SPION KOP CEMETERY.
I HAVE BEEN TO THE CEMETERY MANY TIMES BUT NOT VIA THE BEACH.


I DID SOME RESEARCH INTO CAPTAIN LAWRENCE A NUMBER OF YEARS AGO AND MADE CONTACT WITH HIS DESENDANTS WHO HAD CONTINUED THE MARITIME TRADITION.
THE LAST TWO LINES STATE
"AND THERE SHALL BE NO MORE SEA."

AS USUAL HE KNOWS WHEN WE START TO HEAD BACK... IT'S A DRAG.

WE DROVE TO THE NOTRH GARE CAR PARK ... HE WAS KEEN TO BE OUT.

THE LAGOON.

LOTS OF DRIFT WOOD WASHED BY THE RECENT HIGH TIDES AND STRONG WINDS.

THIS OLD FACTORY STANDS ABOVE MIDDLETON BEACH.
I MADE AND FITTED THE LADDER AND CAGE AROUND IT 38 YEARS AGO !

LOTS  OF BRICKS TOO, FROM ILL FATED SEA DEFENCE PLANS IN THE 1970'S

HARTLEPOOL LIFE BOAT IS BASED AT MIDDLETON.

IT WAS ONLY A DASH ALONG BEACH,
I PICKED UP THE ITEMS ABOVE.

BLUE LAGOON 12 08 14

IT WAS A LATE AFTERNOON AND VERY WINDY WALK.

 A NUMBER OF DAYS OF STRONG WINDS HAD TAKEN AWAY A LOT OF SAND.


WE  (THE DOG AND I) SAT FOR A WHILE AND A SAW A SALMON JUMPING UP RIVER.

THE TIDE HAD COME IN AND THIS WAS OUR ROUTE BACK.

HE TOOK A BREATHER.

THE TIDE CONTINUED TO COME IN.
