31st August 2009,Seaton Carew & Blue Lagoon.

Arrived old fairground car park 6-38am
One Car (Leaving)
One person & one dog on the beach
Wind s/w strong breeze.
Sunny; but few clouds around.
Approx 90 minutes to low tide.
As was with the last walk I had taken on the beach, the strong breeze was carrying the soft dry sand out to sea.
Fair number of ships on the horizon. (See top Photo)
The Blue Lagoon Beach was again very breezy.Long strands of shifting soft sand snaked along the beach and out to sea.
The shells and stones provided shelter to some of the sand, making an atttractive deisn on the sand... see Middle Photograph.
Some people had camped over night and as I left the Blue Lagoon, then they were returning to the tents with what looked like a fish box full of firewood.(See bottom Photo.)
Beach Bouy.

BEACH REPORT 29 AUGUST 2009.SEATON CAREW / BLUE LAGOON.

ARRIVED AT THE OLD FAIRGROUND CAR PARK AT 6 59 AM.

ABOUT FOUR AND A HALF HOURS TO HIGH TIDE

ONE CAR.

THREE PEOPLE & ONE DOG VISIBLE ON THE BEACH.THE WIND WAS A FRESH N/W.

THE LIGHT DRY SAND WAS BEING BLOWN ACROSS THE DAMP SAND TO THE SEA.

I FOLLOWED ALONGSIDE A EARLIER WALKER'S FOOTPRINTS AND NOTICED BY THE PAWS PRINTS HIS DOG HAD BEEN COMING AND GOING IN LARGE HALF CIRULAR PATTERNS.

THE SAND WAS SO FLAT; NO RIPPLES.

ARRIVED ON BLUE LAGOON BEACH AT 7 29 AM. THIS BEACH IS USAULLY A LOT CALMER THAN THE FIRST BEACH,BUT THE WIND DIRECTION TODAY ENSURED A BRACING WALK.

AT AROUND HALF WAY TO THE RIVER TEES , THE WIND CARRIED A STRONG SMELL FROM THE LOCAL INDUSTRIES. AT THIS POINT I TURNED AND HEADED BACK.

ON MY RETURN TO SEATON BEACH I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE ONLY ONE WALKER ,WITH TWO DOGS.A DETERMINED WALK BACK TOWARDS THE CAR PARK INTO AN INCREASING HEADWIND, REVEALED A TOTAL OF FIVE CARS.

TOP PHOTO... IS VIEW ACROSS RIVER MOUTH.
