OCTOBER 23, 2026. SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL. AN AFTERNOON VISIT.

Beach Buoy, Borrowed Dog and Another Dog had parked up in Seaton Carew Park.

It was 12-15p.m.

They walked the short distance to the Seafront.

Borrowed Dog and Another Dog.

The Seafront.

A metal detectorist searched for gold.

Beach Buoy collected five suitable stones.

The tide was more in than it was out.

The view north.

They had joined the beach via the ramp near to The Crazy Golf and Colourful Beach Huts.

A couple headed north with their small dog.

They headed south.

A couple of Crows were pleased to see and possibly recognise Beach Buoy.

They landed nearby.

He scattered some seeds for them.

The Village Green looked as pretty as a picture.

Beach Buoy fed an  another afternoon Crow.

He soon had lots of new friends.

The Metal detectorist wandered southwards before heading off into the dunes.

People with a tape measure and a red and white stick.

Crow on a driftwood perch.

Close up.

Behind it, a grey sea folded under a grey sky.

They walked the low level route.

Beach Buoy added two sturdy stones.

They climbed the small slope.

"Afternoon Mate."

It was 1-03.

Beach Buoy added the five suitable stones.

He patted

THE

stone.

He scattered some seeds for the Crows.

He topped up the wildlife water bowl.

They had stand and a think.

"See you mate."

Crows went for Afternoon Tea.

Beach Buoy the Digs maxed thru way along the low level route.

Down on the beach, Dottie Dog was running south along the water's edge.

Her owner had already turned back north.

The dog turned to follow.

They headed back.

Beach Buoy chatted to a workmate from back in the day.

Twenty minutes later they went their separate ways.

It was a choppy sea.

A lost / found Dog collar and id.

Beach Buoy messaged the number.

It was a Border Collie a from the other side of town.

Beach Buoy dropped it off at a local vets for collection.

BEACH BUOY.

OCTOBER 23, 2026. SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL.

Another Dog woke Beach Buoy at 4 a.m.

Beach Buoy headed to the beach alone.

As he took the short drive, the Beachcombing Border Collie Couple were walking around the block.

It looked like that they were giving the beach a miss for now.

It was wet and windy.

The view north.

Unsurprisingly there was no one else around.

Beach Buoy collected five suitable stones from a beach if shifting, wind-blown sand.

The sea was rough.

The rain was horizontal.

Beach Buoy was "fine."

Riverside Industries glowed to the west.

He walked a torch-lit low level route.

He added two sturdy stones to most probably useless sea defence.

Up the small slope.

"Morning Mate."

It was 7 a.m.

He added the five suitable stones.

He patted

THE

stone.

He checked to the north.

He moved the torch light around like he was in Scooby Doo.

"He'd have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for those pesky kids."

See you mate."

He returned to the beach.

Back to the North.

He headed back along a lively water's edge.

He looked back to the south.

He continued North.

The sewer pipe that had been exposed yesterday was hidden by sand once again.

A steady stream of car headlights were traveling south.

Off along to work.

Silhouettes of Gulls passed by in the darker sky.

Back to The Esplanade.

The rain had stopped.

OCTOBER 22, SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL.

Beach Buoy, Borrowed Dog and Another Dog went for a walk.

Almost unintentionally the ended up on the beach.

Almost...

If they had set off a little earlier they could have made it to Stubborn Dog Stack and back.

As it was it was just a walk by the sea.

Beach Buoy didn't have his beach bag or his Orange Coat.

He felt a little like a secret shopper.

He would write a report later.

This is it.

You are reading it!

They reached the sea front on foot and paw, just before 3 p.m.

They headed to the beach.

It was a glorious afternoon.

Lots of dog walkers walked the water's edge.

Team One Black Ear were walking an afternoon beach too.

They hadn't recognised Beach Buoy in Civvies.

Back to The Esplanade.

As they crossed the site of the summer fun fair.

Beach Buoy found a pound coin in the grass.

How many years would it have laid there in the grass?

BEACH BUOY.

OCTOBER 22, 2026. JUST A BIKE RIDE

 Seaton Carew.

Hartlepool Marina.

New Cycle Lane near the new build apartments and fancy pants pavement.

Back to Seaton Carew at Newburn Bridge.

South along the Esplanade.

BEACH BUOY.

OCTOBER 22, 2026. SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL

Beach Buoy went to the beach alone.
It was as dark.
It was 6-12 a.m.

With the aid of two torches, he collected five suitable stones.

Plenty of Stars on show.

The Wind Turbine Yard beyond the dunes.

Beach Buoy continued south.
The tide sounded like it was well out.
It was.

A Distant Dog barked.
He could hear the putt putt of a small boat beyond the Pier.

He headed to the water's edge.
Two hoods were up.

Stars still on show.

Industrial light to the south.

The North.
Beach Buoy rubbed chilly hand together.

There was some light on show.

A man and his dog headed north.

Beach Buoy walked the low level route.
He added two sturdy stones to the sea defence.

"Morning Mate."
It was just after 7 a.m.

With aid of torches, he patted
THE
stone.
He topped up the wildlife water bowl.
He scattered some seeds.

He had a short stand and a think.
The same torches lit his beach book as he made notes for the blog.

"See you mate."

Back along the low level route.

Back on the beach, he could ses The Sea Serpent surface in the half light.

Lots of areas of beach-trapped water.

He headed north.
There were many fairly deep gulleys running along ahead of him.

The first Crow of the morning flew towards him with open wings, like an old friend would do, with open arms
Maybe they were now?
It landed nearby.
"Do you want some breakfast?"
Beach Buoy knew the answer.

He scattered some seeds for the bird.

The random pipe was well exposed.
Lots of sand had gone.
It is well over a metre high.
At times it has been fully buried by the beach sand.
As he passed by, he wondered how long it would be before it was weak enough for someone to pull on and lay it down?
Maybe not in his lifetime?

What looked like an old sewer pipe had been exposed.
The corogated Stella in the distance is seen at times.
Beach Buoy can't remember ever seeing the sewer pipe.
More evidence of the drop in sand level at this part of the beach.

Another view.

And again.

Photographer at the Wreck.
Beach Buoy had intended going to it too.

He decided to leave it to the photographer.
After all, he had a tripod!

He headed to the Esplanade.
The early pinky promise of the sky didn't bring the Sun.
Maybe it shone sun on Another Paul on another beach?

Two Hopeful Crows had followed him.
Their optimism was rewarded.
He placed a handful of seed on The Esplanade Wall for them.
