SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL. 3, AUG. 2025

Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached the beach car park at 6-20 a.m.

Scruffy and Mam were walking The Esplanade.

"Morning."

"Morning Paul."

Scruffy came over to say hello too.

She was wearing a muzzle.

"It's to stop her eating rubbish. She is getting used to it now."

The lady with a red coat and a brown dog called Jasper, headed down the beach access ahead of Beach Buoy and Another Dog.

"Morning."

"Morning."

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed to the sea.

Rainfall fell.

The 7 a.m. club had already passed, heading north.

It was a Deer-stalker and one dog day.

Beach Buoy collected five suitable stones.

He found another one with no voice.

The tide was out beyond the Seaton Carew Wreck.

The Beachcombing Border Collie Couple headed down the access ramp.

Their conversation echoed of The Esplanade Wall.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog dawdled southwards.

The rain wasn't amounting to much but the one hood that went up, stayed up.

They continued south.

Hands in pockets.

Head deep in thought as well as the hood.

Lots of shingle lay ahead.

Out in the bay, the greyness of the rain crept south.

The Wind Turbines took on the colour of the rain.

The final few faded like a broken pinky promise.

The rain stopped.

The hood that can be the safest of places can suffocate too.

It came down.

6-54.

"Morning Mate."

Beach Buoy added the five stones.

He patted

THE

stone.

He sat on the driftwood seat with an elevated view.

A wet driftwood seat with an elevated view at that.

On the beach below, the confident lady with a confident dog headed south along the water's edge.

"See you mate."

Beach Buoy and Another Dog continued south along the edge of the dunes.

Team One Black Ear were down on the beach, heading back north.

It was unusual for them to have gone to Sand Martin Corner.

They shared distant waves.

At Sand Martin Corner, Two Crows stood up on Pier signage.

They watched as Beach Buoy took pictures of sky, as he failed trying to photograph the Swooping Sand Martins.

They headed back.

Tiny fish darted here and there in Tank Trap Rock Pools.

A beach fisherman stood at the sea.

They returned to the van.

Arrival.

The Seaton Carew Wreck.

Lots of shingle.

Stubborn Dog Stack.

They sat.

JUST A BIKE RIDE.

He stood facing a headwind.
Looking towards
"The village."
It felt like the ghosts of Middleton were swirling all around him.
Maybe they were?

PAUL.

SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL. 2, AUG. 2025.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed to the beach.

It was 6-13 a.m.

One third of Team Mick Aston jumper was out early. She headed south with her two dogs Alfie and Archie.

Another one third of the team hasn't been seen for months.

In fact it was the missing third that gave the team it's name.

It was her dogs that wore knitted jumpers in the style of Time Team's Mick Aston.

The Beachcombing Border Collie Couple crossed the car park on foot, heading to the sea.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog headed south.

Down at the water's edge a couple played with three dogs.

Beach Buoy collected five suitable stones.

The beach looked so odd now that the Little Tern fencing had been removed.

Afterall it had been there since early April.

They walked the water's edge heading south.

Up ahead the Beachcombing Border Collie Couple heading south too.

The 7 a.m. club were making the return journey.

They stopped to chat.

It was a bush hat one dog kind of day.

Team One Black Ear were to the north bringing up the rear.

Eventually Team One Black Ear caught up.

They chatted their chat.

Another ball lost.

Sadly Beach Buoy's stash has been depleted in recent days.

They went their separate ways.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog were off to Stubborn Dog Stack.

Off to the imagined sound of a Disney-style song.

All together now...

Oh oh we're off to the stack,

Sometime today we will be back,

6-49 a.m.

"Morning Mate.”

Beach Buoy added a stone from yesterday's trip to Seaham.

It had been deemed suitable.

He added another five more local but equally suitable stones.

He patted

THE

stone.

A lady with two small dogs sat on the beach below for a while.

She stood up continuing southwards.

One of the dogs stopped to look up at the stack.

The lady did too but pretended not to when Beach Buoy began to gives distant.

If only to say all is good.

Beach Buoy watched white waves break on a grey sea.

The tide was coming in.

He listened to the sea and silence of the Absent Skylarks.

The lady and her two dogs returned north.

The man who once had four dogs headed up the small slope that leads to Stubborn Dog Stack.

They chatted.

Back to three dogs today.

The black and white one was back from his holiday.

"He loves a Pub."

They three dog train headed south along the dune edge.

A couple came along the beach, beachcombing.

A tall man with a shorter lady.

They paused to show one another the finds.

Beach Buoy had a pen malfunction as he made notes in his beach book.

He swapped to black marker pen.

Four Cormorants flew across the Bay.

"See you mate.”

Back to the beach below.

They stopped to chat to Mr. Gunn/Lunn.

It was a Boater and one dog day.

That dog being Excellent Alfie.

Team Muzzled Dog passed by.

They chatted too.

They all went their separate ways.

Two with three dogs.

Seaton Carew.

The Beachcombing Border Collie Couple way to the south.

Lovely rays of light.

More rays.

SEATON SANDS , HARTLEPOOL. 1, AUG 2025.

 Friday.

Just Beach Buoy.

It was 6-26 a.m.

Team One Black Ear were on the old nest site.

"Morning."

"Morning, l'm heading back.

Can't be bothered to go all the way along there. (South)

"Maybe see you tomorrow."

A man with five dogs headed down the access ramp.

They were all friendly, but ran off in different directions.

Beach Buoy headed to the beach.

The 7 a.m. club were already to the north.

A fresh breeze blew from the north west.

The tide was slightly more in than it was out.

Light spots of rain followed them southwards as they side steeped tangles of Seaweed.

One hood went up.

He collected five suitable stones.

The Beachcombing Border Collie Couple were heading back to the north.

The lady with a red coat and a brown dog were up on a dune height.

Beach Buoy walked the water's edge alone.

The spots of rain faded to nothing, the single hood came down.

It still rained out on the horizon.

6-52.

"Morning Mate."

Beach Buoy added the five suitable stones.

He patted

THE

stone,

He took out a short, but heavy hammer from his beach bag.

He went to the recently added giant pencil.

One Hundred blows

4 x 25.

He paused.

20.

20.

20.

He went and sat on the driftwood seat with an elevated view.

The man who once had four dogs came up the small slope.

They chatted as his two dogs came up the slope too.

One, the black and white one, had gone south on his holidays.

" Storm coming Monday!

Sixty miles an hour winds.

That'll mix things up."

Beach Buoy was informed as the man turned to continue through the dunes.

After a short while Beach Buoy headed south too.

"See you mate."

The sea was rough down by North Gare Pier.

A couple of Sand Martins swooped above the sea.

He stood looking at the sea as though he knew much more about it than he really did.

He was a fool many times over.

The sea forgave him.

He turned, heading back north through the dunes.

In a dip in the dunes he caught a glimpse of Dasher, the Muzzled Dog.

She looked be on the scent of a Wabbit, hence the muzzle.

Up above , two Wind-assisted Cormorants flew by like rockets.

For once they looked as comfortable flying in the sky as they do in the sea.

Up ahead, on the beach below, the man with a black dog had just turned to head back.

They had beach walked as far as the tide would allow.

Beach Buoy greeted the stack once more as he passed by.

He dropped down to the beach.

He walked the water's edge.

Sand Martins flew the beach and breaking waves.

Beach Buoy smiled.

Mr. Gunn/Lunn and Excellent Dog Alfie came from the north.

They chatted vas Beach Buoy fussed over the little and excellent dog.

They went their separate ways.

The confident lady with a confident dog passed by.

" Morning."

"Morning."

Beach Buoy felt a need to explain his lack of dog but didn't.

Arrival.

South.

Tangles of Seaweed.

Rain at sea.

"Morning Mate."
