A DAY OUT 30-04-17.

Here is the view from where I have always called Pin point at Carlton in Cleveland. As a child I visited Carlton Camp which is situated down the village at the bottom of the bank.
The camp was used by the children of Hartlepool.

When Hartlepool became part of Cleveland, schools from other parts of Cleveland were able to use the Camp.
Here is a link to it's history.

Story of Carlton Camp.
When we went to the Camp we lived in fear of the ghost of the Grey Lady.
 See here..
Ghost of the Grey Lady.

I went to Carlton today because some had told me of a Cafe that had been built in the Area.
I found it to believe and went to see for myself
here is their website...
Lordstones Cafe

We walked form Lordstones up to Pin Point .
A fresh breeze kept us cool.
This lone tree seemed very determined to grow despite the strong winds it must endure in it's exposed location.

Later in the day I made a trip to Seaton Sands, Hartlepool.

The wind was off the Sea and it was Strong.

One of the good things about a rough Sea is that it mixes things up in the Bay and leaves treasures like this on the Beach.

I went up into the Dunes to view the Bay

The view South from the dunes, looking over to North Gare Beach and the River Tees.

I made some sea pottery finds on the walk back.
This one looks like a simple design for a man?

A couple of flower designs................

The soft dry sand has been stripped from the Beach by the strong wind and pushed towards the Car Park.

Time to call it a Day.

29-04-17. BLAST BEACH, HAWTHORN HIVE AND SEAHAM HALL BEACH.

BLAST BEACH AT DAWDON NEAR SEAHAM.

WE SAT ON A ROCK AND LOOKED NORTH.

WALKED BACK AS FAR AS THE STACK , THEN UP THE STEPS TO THE TOP.

DOWN INTO HAWTHORN DENE, IN SEARCH OF BEACH.

I HAD NEVER BEEEN HERE AT LOW TIDE BEFORE.

THEN IT WAS TIME TO HEAD TO SEAHAM HALL BEACH.

SEAHAM HALL BEACH.

A NICE COLOURED FIND.

SEATON CAREW AND NORTH GARE BEACH. 28 APRIL 2017.

Seaton Carew.

Some old ship timbers have appeared from the depths of the shifting sands.

There is a singer that I like called  John Prine.
One song says "Ain't it funny how an old broken bottle looks just like a diamond ring." This one may not look like a diamond but finds like this always remind me of  that song.

See the link below.

We crossed over to The River Tees at North Gare Beach aka The Blue Lagoon.

The view South across the River Tees.

I headed  back to Seaton Carew. The Dunes reminded me of the curtains at a Theatre and the Beach was the star of the show.

MIDDLETON 28 APRIL 2017.

It was day one of ten days off after a prolonged period of work.
I went to Midddleton  for a morning visit.
It was almost low tide.
In the distance you can see Tees Bay Wind Turbines.

The view North.
You can see where the sea coal lads had been scraping the surface of the Beach.

The timbers of what I believe was an old water outlet guide us to a Gentleman working the Beach.
I have many happy memories of Middleton Beach with my Father and my dog Duke.

SEATON CAREW, 27-04-17.

THE LARGER COLOURFUL HOUSES LIE NORTH OF SEATON CAREW VILLAGE GREEN. THE VILLAGE IS NOW JUST CLASSED AS PART OF HARTLEPOOL.

I MOVED TO SEATON CAREW IN THE MID 1990S.
I CAME TO THIS BEACH AS A CHILD BUT IT WAS ALWAYS A BIT OF A TREAT AND A BIT OF A DAY OUT. I NOW LIVE FIVE MINUTES FROM IT'S TREASURES AND AM SO GRATEFUL.

EVEN THOUGH LAST WINTER I KEPT UP MY REGULAR BEACH WALKS WITH THE HELP OF TORCHES, I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR BEST, WHEN THE NIGHTS ARE GETTING LIGHTER AND LIGHTER.TO ME IT'S FREEDOM.

AS I HEADED BACK I NOTICED THE SWIRL OF CLOUDS FORMING A BLANKET OVER HARTLEPOOL'S HEADLAND.

THANKS FOR READING THIS.
I LOVE THE SEA.

SEATON CAREW 25-04-17.

Here are the finds from the last few Beach trips.Every Shard and Sherd tells a story.
We don't know the stories, but it's fun to imagine..... well for me it is.

Like yesterday, there was a strong, biting, cold Northerly wind making a Sand delivery to the  Dunes.

We moved to the Water's edge away from the blast of the soft dry sand.
The dog has little legs and it is right on the firing line in a sandstorm.I carry him through the worst of Nature's chilly Blasts.

As we neared the North Gare the Sky changed suddenly and the rain followed suit.

Sea foam covered the sand and shingle up near the Gare

Onward,we headed back to sunny Seaton Carew, Hartlepool.
