TATE HILL BEACH AND WHITBY SANDS, WHITBY 29-06-16 Beaches 25 & 26 out of a target of 52 for the year.

My daughter said Whitby is one of her favourite places.

In 1855 a ship called Dimitry of Narnia ran aground here.
Bram Stoker visited Whitby and used the wreck as an inspiration for his book Dracula. The book was published two years later in 1857; he changed the ship's name to Demeter of Varna.

Whitby swing bridge constructed by Heenan & Froude; they also built Blackpool Tower.
My Father once spent the night underneath it, repairing it when it had broken down. I seem to remember him saying it was a Stormy night.

We headed back to the West side a after lunch at a Dog friendly Cafe. 

It was raining, the tide was up but I had to claim Whitby Beach for one of my 52 for the year.

BEACH BOUY.

SEAHAM HALL BEACH 26 06 16.

A TRIP TO SEAHAM HALL BEACH WITH THE CHILDREN ALONG TOO.
IT WAS A WARM DAY THE SEA WAS ABOUT AN HOUR OR TWO FROM BECOMING LOW TIDE. THE VIEW ABOVE IS LOOKING NORTH.

RAIN THREATENED BUT NEVER CAME UNTIL LATE EVENING, AFTER AN HOUR OR SO THE FAMILY WANTED FISH AND CHIPS AND A CAR BOOT SALE.
WE HAD LUNCH THEN WHAT A SHAME NO DOGS ALLOWED IN AT BOOT SALE (EXCEPT GUIDE DOGS.)
SO ME AND THE POOCH HEADED BACK TO THE BEACH.
WE FOUND THIS HEART (BELOW)
LEFT BY SOME ROMANTIC.
IT SAYS

TINY RED FIND WAS ABOUT THE BEST FIND.

THE SEA GLASS  FINDS, PHOTOGRAPHED IN THE SHED AS THE EXPECTED RAIN FELL ON THE ROOF; SUCH A RELAXING NOISE.

THE FAMILY TRIP TO THE CAR BOOT WAS A BIT LIKE A BEACH CLEAN
COMING BACK WITH SOMEONE ELSE'S RUBBISH; USUALLY PLASTIC.

My daughter and her children are over from Italy for a while; they all love the beach, not sure where they get that from ?It's great to see them on my regular beach having freedom and fun. I took the picture in black and white as you see, but it was a warm sunny day here in Seaton Carew, Hartlepool, England

My best find of the day; found North side of North Gare.....where the alleys live.

We had lots of glass finds all mixed up in my beach bag and kids pockets,; but these above where the daughter's beast finds.

An Evening walk just me and one dog; No great finds; No great beach clean but the Sea was there

Not a massive beach clean but each piece of packaging  picked up is a 100 or more beach cleans.

Well it was pouring down!
The hay fever had kicked in and the thought of having rain run down my face was what I needed.

Needless to say that the beach was deserted. A few people were sat in cars; music playing as we headed South ... to `North Gare!

It was at the North Gare where I found this message in a bottle.
I had found three others in the past but those had all come from Hartlepool.
This one came from Fladdabister  on The Shetlands.
it set sail 17 th  April  2016.

There was no one in.

It had been a rain day, but thew Sun decided to make an appearance.
