SOUTH GARE, 26, MARCH 2022.

Beach Buoy and Another Dog reached South Gare around 12-30 p.m.
It was just across the river from Seaton Carew but a forty mile roundtrip.
It was a glorious afternoon.
Hardly a breath of wind.

Looking down The River Tees.

Loads of motorhomes around but only couple of other VW Transporters.

The South Gare Cabins.

One cabin was alone on the dune edge.
The familiar Wind Turbines spun slowly in the background.

They walked to Paddy's Hole.
Another collection of cabins and houseboats overlooked a small harbour setting.
Some of the boats were in a better state of repair than others.

Skylarks sang as men hammered wood work as boats and cabins were repaired.
The hammering echoed slightly in the stillness of the air.

Noah's Ark.

Another of the surrounding cabins.

A man pondered life on a wooden bench that overlooked the dune cabins.

Coffee and lunch in the van before another walk.

Coatham Beach, Redcar and Saltburn beyond.

Across the Tees, from the south for a change.
Seems odd that a ferry service hadn't been set up.

Motorhomes of every shape size and colour lined either side of the road that led to South Gare Pier.

This one must struggle up a bank?

Beach Buoy returned to the van for coffee.

A scooter parked up near by.
Nice.
It's rider went and sat by the river.

BEACH BUOY.

SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL 26 MARCH 2022.

Beach Buoy had gone to bed
 at 8 p.m.
By 10-30 the kettle was on.
He stayed up all night catching up with the blog and other "stuff"
The photograph above is Another Dog
at 1 a.m. at the far end of the sofa

She shuffled closer and closer as the night went on.

They reached the beach car park at 5-20 a.m.
The moon hung over the dunes.
A Gull claimed a Promenade Light as hundreds of others headed inland.

A distant fog buzzer, buzzed across the beach.
They headed down to the beach.

The tide was well out.
A chill in the air drifted from the dunes to the west.

They stuck with the water's edge at first.
Beach Buoy spotted some Gulls by the sea.
He headed up to the strand-line to let them be.
A couple had settled on the dune edge.
They sat on a blanket as they waited for the Sun to rise.

In the distance it looked like more sunrise seekers waited the wait?

The Sun rose.

...and rose.

As Beach Buoy and Another Dog continued south it became clears the supposed sunrise seekers were in fact fishermen.

Beach Buoy had gathered a few beach stones.
He added the stones to the stack.
"Morning Mate."
He patted
THE
stone.
He sipped hot coffee.

The fishermen chatted, possibly about the ones that got away?

If nothing else, the fishermen had managed to catch the sunrise.

"See you mate "
They headed down to the water's edge, south of the fishermen.

It was glorious.

They crossed over the grey rocks as they headed for the river.

They passed that sit and think spot alongside Sand Martin Corner.

The river.
Two more fishermen appeared.
They set up on the pier edge.

Beach Buoy searched the riverside shingle.
A sea marble !

Beach Buoy walked as far as the beach.
A seal popped up not far from shore before heading out to sea.
Beach Buoy headed for a driftwood bench.
Coffee time.
Two paddle boarders appeared as if on cue.

An imagined Post Card from Seaton Carew.

Having a lovely time.
Really needed this break.
Had felt like l was up "that" creek without a paddle.
Now feels like l'm just going with the flow.

The slight mist in the air seemed to the whole scene a golden moment feel.
The river was almost as flat as glass
The paddle boarders had picked the perfect day.

Beach Buoy watched with interest as they headed to the river mouth.

Off they went.

They rounded North Gare Pier, out into
Hartlepool Bay.
Beach Buoy spotted two more fishermen heading down the Pier path.

They passed by.
"Morning."
"Morning."
"Morning."
Beach Buoy could tell from their accents that they were from slightly up north from Hartlepool.

Beach Buoy returned to Seaton Sands.
Mr. Gunn/ Nunn approached from the north.
His dog Alfie, led the way.
"Morning."
"Morning."
They chatted.
"See you later "
"Bye."

Beach Buoy watched as  one of the paddle boarders climbed the sea serpent marker.
He was more than a little surprised.

New arrivals headed south.
Beach Buoy headed north.
It was warm.
Off came his hat.
Off came his snood.
The coat stayed on.
After all its the easiest way to carry one.

Back to the van..

Coffee and muffin by the sea.

25 MARCH 2022.

As Beach Buoy locked the front door
at 6-12 a.m. to head to work

The Beach Sun called...

"COME."SAID THE SUN,
"HOLD MY HAND,
LETS RUN TO THE SEA,
ACROSS THE SAND,
WATCH THE BIRDS,
HEAR THEIR SONG,
COME TO THE PLACE,
WHERE YOU BELONG."

It was later that day when they arrived.
5-36p.m. to be precise.
Once again it was bright with a slight fresh breeze off the sea.

The tide was way out.
No coat required again for today's walk.
The sea was metallic blue.
The wind turbines turned slowly.
Gulls crossed over the dunes and headed out to sea.

The sunlight picked out the white vans and motorhomes that were dotted along South Gare Pier.

They went to see Stubborn Dog.

"Evening Mate."
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.
They stayed a while .
"See you mate.'

It was a slow walk back.

As they reached the car park, a blood red sun just slipped out of view, sinking as quickly as it rises.
A group of small hatchback cars lined up to watch their owners play car park football.

An imagined Post Card from Seaton Carew.

Having a lovely time.
Living life on the edge  at the moment, the water's edge.
Walked to the local marina today.
The weather was splendid.
Had coffee and cake in a cafe.
Can you check if any post has come?
Some may need to be opened?

SEATON SANDS HARTLEPOOL 24 MARCH 2022

Beach Buoy locked the front door
 at  6-17 a.m.
Off to work.

The sun beyond the dunes called him..it would have to wait for now.

They finally reached the beach
at 4-14 p.m.
It was warm.
No hat.
No coat
No gloves.
They set off.
An old English sheepdog with its old English owner strode by.

They walked south.

It was glorious.

"Afternoon Mate.'
Beach Buoy added some stones.
He patted
THE
stone.

The tide was well out.
The bat still had a hint of mist
"See you mate."

They followed horse tracks.

So peaceful.

Seacoal and sand.

Been sunny all day.
Are you still ok to pick me up from the station?

To the north.
