SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL. 27 AUGUST 2020.

They parked upon the Seaton Front, opposite the Village Green at around 6-15 pm.
The rain was pouring.
Dark clouds rushed by quickly in the strong wind, looking more like smoke off a fire the rainclouds.

The rain eased at around 7-10 pm.
They headed for the beach.

The lifeguard's office and storage facility on the promenade.

More clouds than people.

A stormy August sea.

They stacked the stack....

... then headed back.

SEATON SANDS 25 AUGUST 2020

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog arrived at 6-20 pm
It was raining.
They sat and listened to the rain on the roof for a while before donning waterproofs  and heading for the beach at around 6-50 pm

The tide was slightly more in than it was out.
The beach was quiet, courtesy of the inclement weather.

They didn't stack the stack tonight.
Three stones isn't going to make a heap of difference.
Beach Buoy took out the binoculars and scanned the bay in the hope of seeing the Dolphins (again.)☺️.
The sun tried to break through among  a swirl of cloud that was hanging over the dunes.
It didn't win the fight, although it did manage to put a partial rainbow out in the bay.

Beach Buoy moved the van to the sea front  alongside the village green.
Jo Whiley on the radio.
Coffee in the cup.

They stayed until after 9-30.
Before leaving Beach Buoy took   Stubborn Dog for a short walk.
The rain had stopped.
It felt quite mild.

SEATON CAREW PROMENADE AND THE HEADLAND (BOTH WET) 23 AUG 2020

A wet evening walk on Seaton Carew Promenade...

Looks like someone has been doing a bit of modelling on the side?

Later on.. The Headland was wet too

SEATON SANDS 23 AUGUST 2020.

Sunday morning 6-25 am.
Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog headed for the beach.
The Car Park was a hive of activity; council workers readying the CarPark and The Promenade for the coming day's visitors.
The Sun was out, up above a clear horizon.

Elsewhere, clouds filled the sky.

In time, the clouds claimed the Sun as the Sea claimed the beach

They continued south.
Three separate couples were heading back north.
1. Couple with story of their own.✔️
2. Rucksack man with a lady with a bag full of beach swag.✔️
3. Old lady with two walking sticks accompanied  by a tall man with a stoop.✔️

They stacked the stack.
Beach Buoy had his phone camera at the ready, as he was trying to photograph two camera-shy seals.

Then up popped some less camera-shy Dolphins.

Dolphins do this to people.
The 7 am club had spotted them too.
Beach Buoy must have taken around a hundred photographs, trying to catch a good shot of  the Dolphins.

In the end he gave up and reached for the binoculars.
He was rewarded with some lovely Dolphin activity in the bay, all from the stack too, which made it all the more special for Beach Buoy.

Then back to the van for coffee and nap.

SEATON SANDS, 21 AUG 2020.

A day off.
Van going in for minor repair.
They reached the beach at 6-38 am.
An overnight HGV was sat with its engine running.
It was bit blowy with stronger winds forecast for later.
A small flock of small birds flew in an up and down motion as they tried to cross the bay, towards the River in the strong breeze.
(Not quite a wind just yet.)
Random water droplets were being carried on the breeze.

There was only one other on the beach; a lonely jogger off in the far distance.
The tide had not long turned.
The sea looked like textured material; rippled and undulating, but not rough as such.

They stacked the stack.
The Council Surf Rake travelled South too.
It collects stones from the more popular part of the beach and deposits them down near the grey rocks.

They headed back.

Gannets fell from the sky into the sea in search for breakfast.

They bumped into the 7 am club.

It was only one strong today.
It was Mari the Poodle owner, he has a white scotty dog too.
Mari came for a neck scratch.
The owner asked 'Did you see the Dolphins the other day?
They went all the way across the bay then all the way back again.'

'NO...................'

Beach Buoy binned the beach clean.
Another disposable Barbecue !!!!!!!!

Coffee in the van then bike in van so van could be dropped off for that small repair...

Must buy that cycle rack.

SEATON SANDS 20 AUG 2020.

6pm was tea time down in the usual Car Park.
The Car Park, Promenade and beach were very busy.
Too busy for Beach Buoy.
He sat with his drink for an hour or so, people watching, Sea watching and maybe a little cloud watching too.
Just letting the time drift by and the beach become somewhat quieter.
The Hungry Seagull Van was doing a roaring trade.
Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog must have sat for over an hour before hitting the beach?

The wait paid off.
The south end of the beach was very quiet.

The clouds reminded Beach Buoy of branches of an unusual tree.

They stacked the stack and took three photographs.
1.

2.
Looking North.

3.
Looking South.
They parked up near the Village Green,
drank tea, listened to Radio Two.
They went for a short walk, then relaxed in the van until it was dark.

A SIT AND A WALK AROUND A WET HARTLEPOOL HEADLAND. 19 AUG. 2020

Beach Buoy  and Stubborn Dog sat in the van waiting for the rain to stop.....

He pointed the camera at this light and it came on.
None of the other lights did for around 15 minutes.

It must have been lit by The Lamplighter?

The rain wasn't even starting to stop.
They put on some waterproofs and headed to the beach.

They said Hi to Andy Capp.

They walked a wet Town Wall.

St. Hilda's Church.

The street where Beach Buoy's father was born.
It was Cottages back then..
The Sea sits at the bottom of the street.

they went back to the van and sat with coffee until it dark, then a bit darker.
