CHRISTMAS DAY. SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU.
IT WAS A MILD BUT WINDY DAY, DOWN ON THE BEACH FOR THIS EARLY AFTERNOON STROLL.
THERE ARE NEVER MANY FINDS ON WINDY DAYS IF THE WIND IS OFF THE DUNES.THE SOFT DRY SAND STICKS TO THE WET SAND, MAKING IT HARD TO LOCATE ITEMS.
PLENTY OF COUPLES ABOUT, SHARING A CHRISTMAS BEACH WALK WITH THE ODD DOG WALKER THROWN INTO THE SANDY MIX TOO.

HEADED SOUTH AS FAR AS THE NORTH GARE PIER.

A FAMILY GROUP STRETCHING THEIR LEGS; LIKE ME HEADING TO THE CAR PARK.
IT WAS GOOD TO BE OUT AND GET SOME DAYLIGHT, FRESH AIR OR IN A NUTSHELL; BEACH!

CHRISTMAS EVE ON SEATON SANDS AND NORTH GARE.

Up early and instead of a dash to ASDA on Christmas Eve... it was the Beach for me.

The light was amazing.

A plane?
A Dog?
A devil?
what do you see?

It was windy but very mild as we headed South.

North Gare Beach.

MERRY CHRISTMAS from the Dog.

Sea alley.

Merry Christmas to all our readers.

SEATON SANDS AND NORTH GARE BEACH 23 DEC. 2017.

On Beach around 7-15 am.
It was really mild for the time of the year.
The tide was on the way out.

Worked my way through the rocks, following a stream of shingle towards the Sunrise.

Over to North Gare again.

BEACH BUOY.

22 DECEMBER 2017.....SEATON SANDS AND NORTH GARE BEACH.

Dad.
He died this day in 1982.
He is responsible for all my Beach visits.
We did Beaches most weekends.
This was his favourite photograph of him that I took in Middleton after a shrimping trip in Middleton Bay.
If there is another side and I get there one day,
the first thing I will do is punch him square on the chin.
He would most probably respect me for doing it.
It's a bit odd being older than he ever was.

I parked up behind the Rock Shop at Seaton Carew.
It was foggy.
A flock of starlings landed nearby as if grounded by the poor visibility.
They chirped and chatted like a bus load of excited day trippers.

There was a slight break in the Fog to the South.

Meanwhile the Northern view was Sea coal and Fog.

The paths of two dog walkers cross.

A small pottery head found down by North Gare.

As I knelt down to take a photograph of the pottery head  this Sea alley was within touching distance.

There was lots of Alley sized shingle around and a search revealed another Blue and White one.

Down by the River;more shingle and the Fog returned.

SEATON SANDS AND NORTH GARE BEACH 21 DEC. 2017.

A medical appointment meant a later than usual Beach visit so it was around 11am. It was a mild day and there was shingle all over  the chuffing place so I was very hopeful of some half decent finds.

The sea pottery came thick and fast....

I avoid the limelight  when at all possible but here is a rare Beach selfie

We crossed over ton North Gare once again to take advantage of the wish tide. We were repaid by this  Christmassy Sea Alley.

Not far away was this beauty. I don't usually find much on the Gare... today was different!
We crossed back over to Seaton Sands.
Up in the rocks I spotted some nice driftwood. As I clambered up to have a look at the driftwood  I saw this chap. A very lucky find! It made me wonder what else I would have missed? I suppose as with all things in life it depends on which path you take if you find treasure or crap!

Like an Angel of the North ,she waits, arms open waiting for a hug, within site of the Sea Serpent that lies beyond;

So, I cleaned the Beach a little.

Today's seaglass.
Today's pottery.

"What do you do with your finds?"
...... I draw them!

SEATON SANDS AND NORTH GARE (AGAIN.) 20 DEC 2017.

First day off of 19.
Would have been on the Beach a little earlier but was on taxi duty.
Arrived around 8-20 am and parked a little farther North than usual.
The View to the North is above, the spits and spots of rain that tip tapped on my coat hood at least gave the rainbow as compensation.

In complete and utter contrast , this is the view South a few moments later. No filter, what you see is what it was. The Seaton Carew wreck lies visible in the foreground

And then the Sun came.

There is a lot of sadness and loneliness in the world.
This happy stone made me smile and went into the collecting bag.

He is with me now, smiling forever.

Crossed over to North Gare and down by the Riverside.
The tide was well out.

A piece from a game called five stones.

Today's finders and keepers.

Now I have eleven and a half five stone pieces.
Did they all fall down drains years ago as children played in the streets only to be washed out to Sea to begin an adventure that ended up in a tin on my desk?
