SEATON SANDS, HARTLEPOOL, 31 JULY 2018...

Beach Buoy and Two Dogs arrived 19-52.
It was a Warm Sunny Night with a warmer breeze from the West.
A man was talking into his mobile phone on the promenade. It looked like he was dressed in his work clothes; manual work clothes. His trousers were tucked into his socks.
It sounded like work talk?
On the Beach two family groups sat at the water's edge.

The Sea was rippled by the Strong Breeze like a Curtain hanging near to an open window. No breaking waves apart from the distant Sea Serpent, twisting and rolling out in the Bay.

Beach Buoy sat and had a think.
The Two Dogs sat and watched as a Jogger approached.

It was a clean Beach tonight.

Beach Buoy wandered back, with his head in the clouds a little... EYE TIDE.

:-)

The Birdwatcher.

The Clouds were amazing tonight.

Beach Buoy sees a man ready to jump Ship?
As he headed back, the Sun was setting like Massive Perfect Egg Yoke. Beach Buoy pictured himself with a Giant Toast Soldier running towards it.
As he was leaving the Beach he passed two teenagers "Discussing." absent friends.
The Village Church Bells struck 9...
Time to go.

SEATON SANDS 30 JULY 2018.

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog stepped onto the Beach as the Church Bells tolled for 7-30 pm.

There was a Warm Wind from the West and the Sun was out, less than an hour earlier the Rain had been bouncing.

The two headed South.
There seemed to be clouds of every, type, shape and shade.

It was a Quiet Beach tonight.
The tide was on the way out having peaked an hour or so earlier

As so often happens; Saltburn was glowing in the Evening Sunlight.

An uneventful, but relaxing walk.

Sunday 29 July 2018

SEATON SANDS 29 JULY 2018.

A DOGLESS BEACH BUOY ARRIVED BACK AT THE BEACH AT 8-15 pm.
THERE WAS A WARM BREEZE FROM THE WEST AND AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS OF OVERCAST AND GREY, THE SUN WAS BACK OUT.
THE GREENS, BLUES, WHITES AND YELLOWS ALL LOOKED SO VIBRANT AFTER A SPELL AWAY FROM THE LIGHT.

WHITE COTTON WOOL CLOUDS TOPPED THE WIND TURBINES OUT IN THE BAY.

THE LOWERING SUN GAVE BEACH BUOY A LONG SHADOW AND MADE HIM REALISE HE MISSED THE LITTLE STUBBORN DOG'S COMPANY AND THAT OF IT'S SHADOW ALONGSIDE HIM.

BEACH BUY HAD BEEN TEMPTED BACK TO THE BEACH BY THE THOUGHT OF ALL OF THESE LITTLE  NURDLES THAT HE HAD SEEN AND FILMED THIS MORNING. BEACH BUOY KNELT DOWN AND WORKED ALONG THE STRAND LINE.
USING FOUR FINGERS LIKE A GRAB AT A SEASIDE TEDDY BEAR GRABBING MACHINE HE WORKED HIS WAY ALONG THE LINE. LUCKILY HE WAS HAVING MORE SUCCES THAN THE TEDDY BEAR GRABS, WHICH MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, DROP THE TOY AT THE LAST MINUTE.
BEACH BUOY COUNTED AS IF THERE WERE TEN IN EACH GRAB, THERE WERE USUALLY A LOT MORE.
IF IT WAS TEN THEN HE COLLECTED 4000 MORE LIKE OVER 6000.
MAYBE HE COULD DO WITH ONE OF THESE?

NURDLE MACHINE.

MIDDLETON BEACH, HARTLEPOOL. 29 JULY 2018.

2-45 pm found Beach Buoy and Two Dogs at Middleton. He parked up near to the RNLI lifeboat station with it's flag flapping in the wind above it's small tidy garden.
It was a couple of hours to high tide. The wind was strong and rain spots punctuated the fresh air.
Sea Birds hung high up in the wind, a drop of their left wing saw thew shot to the North until they straightened up and hoovered in a different part of the Beach.

Middleton Beach was always so flat but Storms earlier in the year have left their calling card, much of the Beach is much lower than it had been in recent years

These wooden posts are normally below sand level; the tide was reclaiming them for the Sea.

A Beach Brick; back in the 1970's many were placed in wire cages and piled up as a form of sea defence.
Years later many of the cages have broken open and at times can leave parts of the Beach looking like a Brick Museum.
The Sand has filled in the letters on this one making it look like Gold Lettering.

"DO ALL THINGS WITH LOVE."
The numbers are from when the Jetty was made with a series of inter-locking shapes; each was numbered.
This modern Jetty replaces an earlier; more solid one, known as the Banjo because of it's shape. It was demolished sometime around the 1990's and the replacement was angled more to the South to widen the entrance to the Port.

SEATON SANDS 29 JULY 2018.

Oddly, Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog arrived at 6-59am again, as they did yesterday.
Spots of rain fell today with a Fresh Breeze from the South The previous heavier rain had smoothed a thousand footprints that had marked their history on the non-tidal part of the Beach.

Out in the Bay, near The Gares, Three Tees Tugs are waiting for their Ship to come in. They will pull and nudge it into Port. The 7 am club had appeared on the Beach and within a minute of yesterday's timing The Large Friendly Poodle had caught Beach Buoy up near the Dunes for it's usual hello and a neck rub.
Two Cormorants flew North across The Bay today, but high up in the Sky, not hugging the Sea as so often seen. Beach Buoy wondered if they were higher because of today's tailwind?

Beach Buoy headed for the Bench up in the Dunes once again as the tide was still high enough to stop a full Beach  walk to North Gare Pier.
Beach Buoy had a moment.
He didn't like many films; Fields of Dreams was one that made the grade ( A dead Dad thing.)
"Build it and he will come."
Beach Buoy sat a while wondering if he had company... 36 years was a long time.
He sat for a good while looking out across his home town with prominent markers and memories on the horizon, then across to The Bay with memories of it's own.
The Breeze Blew.
The Dog sniffed.
The Sea Lapped.
Beach Beach Mulled.

Reluctantly Beach Buoy headed back.
He admired the resilience of the Green and Golden Grasses growing in sand and rocks, bowing in the strengthening breeze.

Sadly there was strand line of  Plastic Nurdles; thousands of them.
Odd how the Sea and it's tides keep things together like this, Sea Coal, Shingle, Driftwood even Disposable Lighters can turn up in groups; some welcome, some not.
Beach Buoy grabbed a few hundred Nurdles and placed them in a shoe he had collected as part of his beach clean.

Beach Buoy and his mate headed down to the water and  shuffled back.

SEATON SANDS 28 JULY 2018.

Beach Buoy and two Dogs arrived back on the Beach at..... 7-30pm.
So did the rain.
BEACH BUOY.

SEATON SANDS, 28 JULY 2018.

It was 6-59 am when Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog's feet hit the Sand.
Dangerously close to becoming an unofficial member of the 7 am club.
Breeze from South West and the Morning felt fresh after all of last night's rain.
Crows and Seabirds worked the strand line ahead of Beach Buoy.

Beach Buoy went to the large driftwood piece that was  mentioned in a previous blog. A 7-11am glance back saw the 7am club had arrived, by 7-26am the Large Poodle was   getting it's neck rub off Beach Buoy.

Beach Buoy paused at The Sea Serpent and watched as a Cormorant skimmed South just above the Sea, closely followed by another pair, on same flightpath, same altitude.
Beach Buoy headed up into the Dunes due to the tide situation. He saw this Bench and sat on the rain dampened seat; the damp penetrating his Jeans as he surveyed the view.

The View....

Grass and the Gares.....

So remind me... why is he called Stubborn dog?

Sea Pottery .. SURF AND BUBBLES.

plus four more bottles later from Car Park

Friday 27 July 2018

SEATON SANDS 27 JULY 2018.

Beach Buoy and Stubborn Dog arrived at 6-45 pm.
There was
lovely breeze from the North.
Beach Buoy spotted something  in the distance at the water's edge, his heart sank a little as it looked like it could be a dead Dolphin or maybe a Seal, thankfully it was just a large piece of dark, well travelled driftwood.
Beach Buoy stayed at the water's edge and headed South.
Up on the strand line some Crows crowed as they pecked for food.

Out at Sea, Cotton Wool Mountains Rose up from the Horizon.

Another Balloon from a meal that was "Happy.'

Beach Buoy had walked as far as the Sea Serpent; where the Sea had given up many plastic childhood toys.
See Beach clean below... On the way back Beach Buoy rested against the Dune edge to make some notes for his Blog.
The Breeze had picked up a little and with it, brought a freshness to the Coast.
Beach Buoy had noticed a rumbling to the South for the duration of his walk, putting it down to the Pilot Boat with what must be the noisiest engine in the world?
He opened his Beach Blog Book and as he he did large raindrops fell onto the Crisp White Paper.
Without a word of a lie as he wrote "Maybe the distant rumbling was Thunder, a loud crash of overhead Thunder sounded out, as it did the Rain became heavier.
Beach Buoy reached into his Bag for his Raincoat in a (Smaller) Bag.
The Sun shone brighter as the Rain fell and the Thunder rumbled. Beach Buoy put his hood up and looked down as he walked. Even in the brightest of Sunshine, a flash of nearby lightening was reflected onto the Beach ahead of Beach Buoy.
The Rain was so heavy Beach Buoy could hear it falling into the shallows of the Sea and making an applause type sound.

Lots of toys on Beach Clean
5 bucket handles included.

Beach Buoy went for Chips and sat in the Car with a Wet Dog as the rain fell harder and harder as he sat and watch more lightening flashes than he had ever seen?
The sound of the rain on the Metal roof of the Car made Beach Buoy nod off, it was so relaxing. It was as if the Vauxhall called Zafira had became a Volkswagen called  Mabel....
He was woken at around 10pm by the sound of a Police Vehicle racing by with lights and sirens on.

Wednesday 25 July 2018

SEATON SANDS 25 JULY 2018.

Beach Buoy, two dogs, 2 Italians and 1 English arrived on the Beach at 8-28pm.
It was a bit of a get the Italians tired trip.
The Promenade at the Car Park end had an overseas feel about it. People out for being out sake...
it was hot.

A Tern flew overhead it narrow wings made it look like a pencil drawing.
Towards the Dune a Kestrel hovered for its supper.

And then it was time to go.
