SEATON SANDS, MIDDLETON, THE HEADLAND AND SEATON SANDS AGAIN 31 MARCH 2018

Bitterly cold morning walk.

Later in the day I went to Middleton, the wreck has been pushed higher up on the Beach.

Middleton Bay looked wild.

Went over to The Headland, the Pier was taking a battering.

Some finds.

Some more finds.

Beachclean.

I returned to Seaton Sands later in the day.

I came back with a house guest; yet another victim of all of the recent Garbage weather.

SEATON SANDS, NORTH GARE AND MIDDLETON BEACH 24 MARCH 2018.

Being a little under the weather and what with high tide around
8am, I opted to do a sketch of a piece of found sea pottery whilst I planned my day.

The dog realised it was a day off and wanted the Beach,
He had tried slapping me with his front paw, this evolved into laying across my legs as if to say
"Look how bored I am."

He continued to try and get his point across.
He won in the end. I collected the daughter's dog and the three of us were beach bound.

We joined the Beach a bit more North than usual up at Little Scar.

Spits of rain made me consider turning back for a waterproof coat, I carried on and gladly the rain didn't.

I was feeling rough and had stopped at the South side of North Gare Pier for a rest with every intention of just heading back. I felt rested so carried on to the River and glad I did as I found the item pictured below.

I knew some had been found at Redcar earlier in the week.
I have been onto their website and recorded my find.

Then it was back to the Bay and a hike to the car.

It was a lovely day, I had stopped a while to listen to the song of a Skylark up above.

I went to Middleton and was saddened to see that tThe Middleton Wreck had sun around about 90 degrees and now looked ready to relaunch.

First spotted this last week and reported it to Tees Archaeology
they reckon in it 19th Century possible used into the 20th Century and was possibly used too sharpen knives.
